Dynamics of the Role
This is an exciting time at TransUnion CIBIL. With investments in our people, technology and new business markets, we are redefining the role and purpose of a credit bureau. We are establishing a new File-to-File comparison & insights practice within the Search & Match (S&M) team. This role will be critical in driving data-driven insights from bureau datasets, helping improve match quality, detect inconsistencies, and enable better client engagement.
The incumbent will combine bureau data domain knowledge with strong technical and analytical capabilities, translating complex comparisons into actionable insights. This is a hybrid position and involves regular performance of job responsibilities virtually as well as in-person at an assigned TU office location for a minimum of two days a week.
Role Overview And Core Responsibilities
Perform large-scale file-to-file comparisons across bureau datasets to identify:
- Member-wise and portfolio-wise hit rate variations
- Missing / suppressed tradelines and fragmentation issues
- Excess tradelines indicating incorrect linkages or mixed files
- Variations in delinquency, vintage, and enquiry data
- Quantify discrepancies (%, trends, patterns) and build structured comparison frameworks
Insight Generation
- Derive actionable insights from comparison outputs, including:
- o Root cause analysis of data inconsistencies
- o Identification of match quality gaps
- o Portfolio-level performance diagnostics
- Translate analytical findings into clear business recommendations for S&M improvements
Dashboarding & Reporting
- ·Design and develop interactive dashboards and reports to present:
- o Hit rate trends and portfolio benchmarking
- o Tradeline discrepancies and linkage issues
- o Delinquency and enquiry patterns
- Automate reporting pipelines for recurring insights using modern tools
Stakeholder Engagement & Benchmarking
- Partner with internal teams to:
- o Support client discussions with data-backed insights
- o Enable industry benchmarking and comparative analysis
- Present findings to business stakeholders in a structured and compelling manner
Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to enhance Search & Match algorithms and processes
- Contribute to building frameworks, best practices, and reusable analysis assets for the new practice
Required Knowledge And Experiences
Technical Skills
- Strong hands-on experience in:
- SparkSQL / SQL (mandatory)
- Big data handling and performance optimization
- Experience in dashboarding / visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.)
- Good understanding of data pipelines and structured/unstructured data
Domain Knowledge
- Strong understanding of bureau / credit data, including:
- Tradelines, enquiries, delinquencies
- File structures and matching logic
- Experience in data reconciliation / comparison analysis preferred
