Position Description

This is a permanent position based in Hong Kong, in the Group Finance Team at a leading securities and investment banking company. The role will be reporting to Senior Manager – Retail Broking and Wealth Management and will be responsible for various finance tasks managing group legal entity controlling in the retail brokerage business.

Key Areas of Responsibilities

  • Responsible for daily financial accounting & book closing of the group entities in the retail brokerage and wealth management business including involvement with expense analysis, account payable, intercompany revenue and fee expenses etc.

  • Assist in daily and monthly FRR reporting of licensed corporations

  • Prepare client money segregation

  • Assist in preparation of financial statements and year-end tax filing

  • Assist in year-end audit & regulatory assignment

  • Prepare various reconciliation reports between external and internal parties

  • Key contact point for banking transactions

  • Provide assistance in special projects and provide on-going improvements to the finance operation to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency.

Requirements

  • University graduate with at least 2-3 years of finance and accounting experience in the financial services industry

  • Experience on retail broking & margin financing, and knowledge on futures & derivatives is an advantage

  • Proficiency in use of computer. Especially excellent MS-Excel skills is a must, experience in MS-PowerPoint and SAP is an advantage

  • Strong team-player with good interpersonal skills

  • Keen on personal development with long term commitment to the company

  • Good communication skills – both written and oral with ability to communicate to both finance and non-finance teams

  • Big 4 professional firms experience would be an advantage

  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
