About the location:

Four Seasons Hotel Dalian is situated in the beautiful coastal city of Dalian, nestled in the heart of the Donggang CBD in Northern China. Adjacent to the bustling Renmin Road business district and the International Conference Center, this vital hub encompasses important industries such as business, finance, information, headquarters economy, and tourism sightseeing, marking it as a significant economic core area in Dalian. The hotel features six distinctive restaurants and bars, located on the first floor and floors 39 to 41. These diverse establishments encompass Chinese, Western, and Japanese culinary styles, along with an exquisite bakery, a specialty bar, and a lobby lounge with skyline views, offering an indulgent city lifestyle.

The Four Seasons Hotel Dalian is looking for Assistant Director of People & Culture who share a passion for excellence and who infuse enthusiasm into everything they do.

About the role:

The Assistant Director of People & Culture is at Assistant Division Head Level. The Assistant Director of People and Culture forms part of the Hotel Leadership team who collectively make key strategic and operational decisions for the Hotel.  The Assistant Director will oversee all aspects of the People and Culture division including benefits administration, employee relations, recruitment and retention of staff, communication to staff, career development of staff, wage & hour compliance, training, workers’ compensation and legal matters related to hotel employees.

What you bring:

We are looking for individuals who are strategic, have strong business acumen, good communication and interpersonal skills and are able to evidence of professionalism and adaptability.  Individuals also need to be a catalyst for change and an employee champion.

Applicants are required to have three to five years previous employment in a related position.  Human Resources or Hospitality Education is preferable, however, not essential if applicants have previous relevant work experience.  Working knowledge of Labor laws is advantageous. 

Occasional travel is required to other Four Seasons Hotels and s for training and development purposes.

Schedule & Hours:

•  8 hours per day, 5 days per week

Language Ability:

Fluent English capability in listening, speaking, reading, writing, and translation

Fluent Mandarin capability in listening, speaking, reading, writing, and translation is MUST

Skills Required

  • 3-5 years previous employment in a related HR or People role
  • Fluent Mandarin in listening, speaking, reading, writing and translation
  • Fluent English in listening, speaking, reading, writing and translation
  • Strong business acumen, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to act as a catalyst for change and employee champion
  • Human Resources or Hospitality education
  • Working knowledge of labor laws
