Position Details

  • Pay rate: discussed upon interview
  • Schedule: Full time Monday–Friday, with rotating on call requirements
  • Additional $2/hour if teammate opts out of benefits
  • Benefit eligibility (medical, PTO, etc.) start after 30 days

Position Summary

The Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) works with the Director of Nursing to support person-centered resident care in alignment with LSC’s philosophy, objectives, policies, and standards. The ADON serves as a leader and role model for nursing personnel and assumes responsibility for the Director of Nursing’s duties in their absence or as assigned.

  • Maintain a set schedule and participate in on-call responsibilities, including a proportionate share of 24-hour call.
  • Help establish, interpret, and implement nursing service philosophy, objectives, policies, and procedures.
  • Supervise nursing personnel to ensure high-quality resident care.
  • Serve on facility committees, including the Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) Committee, as assigned.
  • Collaborate with physicians, consultants, and interdisciplinary teammates to support residents’ physical, psychological, social, and spiritual needs.
  • Act as a liaison with licensed personnel for consultation and decision-making.
  • Conduct daily rounds, nursing observations, and assessments as indicated.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of emergency care, disaster and evacuation procedures, and safety programs.
  • Perform the duties of Nursing Supervisor, Charge Nurse, Staff Nurse, or Director of Nursing when required.
  • Ensure compliance with current state and federal regulations, as well as LSC policies, procedures, and philosophies.
  • Participate in nursing department staffing, interviewing, hiring, coaching, evaluations, and disciplinary processes as needed.
  • Monitor the restorative nursing, infection control, and QAPI programs as assigned.
  • Participate in required educational programs.
  • Reflect LSC’s mission, vision, values, and customer service standards in daily interactions.
  • Complete other assigned duties necessary for the orderly operation of the facility.

Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Minimum of two years of geriatric care and supervisory experience preferred.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

  • Push, pull, or lift up to 35 pounds, with occasional lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Stand or walk for extended periods, with occasional bending and reaching.
  • Assist with repositioning and transferring residents while following safe lifting procedures.
