Position SummaryThe Assistant Director of Nursing assists the Director of Nursing in planning, organizing, and directing all nursing services to ensure the highest quality of resident care. This leadership role helps maintain regulatory compliance, supports nursing staff development, and promotes a culture of excellence, compassion, and accountability.
Essential Responsibilities- Assist with oversight of daily nursing operations
- Support recruitment, onboarding, training, and retention of nursing staff
- Participate in performance management and employee coaching
- Ensure compliance with state, federal, and local regulations
- Assist with quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives
- Monitor resident care plans and clinical outcomes
- Participate in surveys, audits, and regulatory inspections
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance resident care
- Serve as a resource and mentor for nursing staff
- Assume leadership responsibilities in the absence of the Director of Nursing
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing leadership experience
- Experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or post-acute care
- Knowledge of state and federal long-term care regulations
- Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills
- Previous experience as an Assistant Director of Nursing or Nurse Manager
- Restorative, rehab, or memory care experience
- Experience with quality measures and survey preparation
