What You'll Do

As our Assistant Director of Nursing, you will partner closely with the Director of Nursing to oversee the daily clinical operations of our skilled nursing facility and ensure exceptional resident care.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assist the Director of Nursing in planning, organizing, and supervising nursing services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
  • Provide leadership and support to licensed nurses and nursing assistants.
  • Assist with recruiting, hiring, onboarding, training, coaching, and mentoring nursing staff.
  • Participate in employee evaluations, performance improvement, and disciplinary processes.
  • Serve as the clinical leader and backup to the Director of Nursing when needed.
  • Conduct daily clinical rounds and monitor resident conditions.
  • Ensure residents receive safe, compassionate, high-quality care while protecting their dignity and rights.
  • Collaborate with physicians, residents, families, and interdisciplinary team members.
  • Assist with policy development, implementation, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Conduct and coordinate nursing in-services and staff education.
  • Maintain regulatory compliance with federal, state, and local requirements.
  • Stay informed of regulatory changes and communicate updates to the nursing team.
  • Provide direct resident care when necessary.
What We're Looking For

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
  • BSN preferred
  • Current California nursing license in good standing
  • 3–5 years of nursing management experience, preferably in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting
  • Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office required
  • PCC (PointClickCare) experience preferred
  • Ability to lead by example while fostering a positive and accountable work environment
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, and move throughout the facility
  • Occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds
  • Ability to use computers and standard office equipment
  • Travel may occasionally be required
