The Arc of the Ozarks is looking for an Assistant Director of IT & AI to join our team!

In this role, you’ll work closely with the Director of Information Technology to lead day-to-day IT operations while helping develop and implement the organization’s approach to artificial intelligence. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys both the technical and leadership sides of IT and wants to play a role in shaping the future of technology at The Arc.

What You’ll Do

Lead & Support the IT Team

  • Supervise assigned IT staff and provide guidance, training, and support.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the IT department.
  • Help ensure the IT team provides excellent customer service.
  • Work with the Director of IT to develop and carry out strategic IT goals.
  • Maintain IT installation, configuration, and operational procedures.
  • Track and renew licenses and certificates.
  • Verify completion of scheduled backups and other system jobs.
  • Monitor hardware, servers, system resources, and processes.
  • Research and recommend innovative and automated IT solutions.

Lead Our AI Efforts

  • Research and evaluate emerging AI technologies for program, administrative, and clinical use.
  • Identify effective, ethical, and HIPAA-compliant ways to use AI across the organization.
  • Develop processes and frameworks for responsible AI adoption.
  • Help ensure AI implementation supports efficiency, data integrity, and regulatory compliance.
  • Evaluate and manage relationships with AI vendors and technology partners.
  • Develop policies, processes, and training to help management and administration use AI responsibly.
  • Make recommendations and assist with the implementation of appropriate AI solutions.

Collaborate & Communicate

  • Keep the Director of IT and Executive Vice President informed about significant IT projects and AI initiatives.
  • Build strong working relationships with staff across all departments.
  • Communicate technical information in a way that is easy for non-technical staff to understand.
  • Help create a positive, collaborative work environment.
  • Work with internal teams and external technology partners to support organizational needs.
What We’re Looking For
  • Previous supervisory experience is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred; relevant work experience may substitute for the degree.
  • Applicable certifications are preferred.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to independently research, plan, budget, and implement complex IT and AI-related projects.
  • Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical staff.
  • Strong judgment, discretion, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work independently.
  • Strong understanding of leadership, supervision, and staff development.
  • Ability to delegate effectively and manage multiple priorities.
  • Licensed and insured driver with the ability to travel within Missouri on an infrequent basis.

Qualifications

Ability to exercise good judgment and discretion.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Ability to work varied and flexible hours and to accept and adapt to changes in assignments, methods, policies, etc.

Considerable knowledge of the principles of leadership, supervision, and training.       

Ability to effectively research, budget, propose, plan, and implement complex projects related to AI adoption and other IT related areas.

Ability to lead in a manner that is positive and supportive of The Arc administrative decisions and exercise professional discretion when administrative decisions are made that are not in keeping with personal preferences.

Must be able to clearly explain concepts and problems to employees in non-technical terms.

A licensed and insured driver, with ability to travel within the state of Missouri on an infrequent basis.

Previous supervisory experience required.

Bachelor’s Degree in a related field. Relevant work experience may be substituted for bachelor’s degree.  Applicable certifications preferred.
