Assistant Human Resources Director

Kalahari Resorts & Conventions is seeking an Assistant Director of HR. In this role, you will maintain and enhance the organization's human resources by planning, implementing, and evaluating employee relations and human resources policies, programs, and practices.

Key Responsibilities  

 

  • Assist the HR Director with leading HR strategy aligned with company goals and culture. 
  • Help oversee recruitment, onboarding, and talent development. 
  • Foster an inclusive, engaged, and high-performing workplace. 
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws and internal policies. 
  • Manage compensation, benefits, and performance systems. 
  • Drive employee training, leadership development, and succession planning. 
  • Resolve employee relations issues and support conflict resolution. 
  • Optimize HR operations, systems, and data reporting. 
  • Promote workplace safety, wellness, and team member satisfaction. 

 

What We’re Looking For  

 

  • At least five years as an HR manager, preferably with a large resort/hotel and convention center. 
  • Ability to maintain your own office, including typing, filing, computer, telephone, and fax. 
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office for Windows, Excel, PowerPoint, ADP, and HRIS systems. 
  • Must be able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately. 
  • Must work well in stressful, high-pressure situations. 
  • Must be effective in handling problems in the workplace, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems as necessary. 
  • Knowledge of Workers’ Compensation Administration duties 
  • Experience with the administration and management of unemployment claims. 
  • Experience with OSHA accident/injury reporting and yearly reporting. 
  • Experience with FMLA & LOE. 
  • Associate Relations & DA Advisor experience. 
  • Management of Exchange Visitor Program/Housing. 
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of HR.
