The Assistant Director Clinical Services is an RN who is responsible for assisting the Director of Clinical Services in the overall supervision of nursing care in the Health Center.

- Supervises direct nursing care in the Health Center.
- Administers direct nursing care when more than routine care is indicated.
- Makes routine rounds to assure proper care and a safe, clean resident environment.
- Assures accuracy and completeness of medical records.
- Coordinates, conducts, and documents the MDS, resident care plans and conference in the absence of the MDS nurse.
- Supervises nursing personnel on all shifts. Participates in staffing, scheduling, counseling, orientation, and evaluation of nursing staff.
- Assists with orientation of nursing personnel.
- Participates in family/resident counseling.
- Responds to emergency calls, as necessary.
- Functions in the capacity of DON in his/her absence.
- Assures effective communication with other shifts and departments as it relates to resident care.
- Willing to work an “on call” rotation
Additionally, you will gain experience by:
- Assures timeliness of physician visits.
- Accompanies physicians when making rounds.
- Notifies physician and family of changes in resident’s condition.
- Encourages rehabilitative techniques to restore residents’ independence.
- Assures proper functioning of medical equipment and adequate medical supplies.
- Assists DON in developing and implementing policies and procedures.
- Assists in infection control, safety and pharmacy rounds and audits.
- Attends in-service training and education sessions, as assigned.
- Performs specific work duties and responsibilities assigned by supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- unencumbered Registered nurse with a current clear FL state license.
- Two years’ experience in geriatric nursing and/or B.S. Degree in nursing. Participation in professional organizations, dealing primarily in geriatrics preferred. Minimum of two years nursing administration experience, preferably in a long-term care setting. NADONA certification a plus.
- Solid computer proficiency.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
