The Assistant Director Clinical Services is an RN who is responsible for assisting the Director of Clinical Services in the overall supervision of nursing care in the Health Center.

  • Supervises direct nursing care in the Health Center.
  • Administers direct nursing care when more than routine care is indicated.
  • Makes routine rounds to assure proper care and a safe, clean resident environment.
  • Assures accuracy and completeness of medical records.
  • Coordinates, conducts, and documents the MDS, resident care plans and conference in the absence of the MDS nurse.
  • Supervises nursing personnel on all shifts. Participates in staffing, scheduling, counseling, orientation, and evaluation of nursing staff.
  • Assists with orientation of nursing personnel.
  • Participates in family/resident counseling.
  • Responds to emergency calls, as necessary.
  • Functions in the capacity of DON in his/her absence.
  • Assures effective communication with other shifts and departments as it relates to resident care.
  • Willing to work an “on call” rotation

Additionally, you will gain experience by:

  • Assures timeliness of physician visits.
  • Accompanies physicians when making rounds.
  • Notifies physician and family of changes in resident’s condition.
  • Encourages rehabilitative techniques to restore residents’ independence.
  • Assures proper functioning of medical equipment and adequate medical supplies.
  • Assists DON in developing and implementing policies and procedures.
  • Assists in infection control, safety and pharmacy rounds and audits.
  • Attends in-service training and education sessions, as assigned.
  • Performs specific work duties and responsibilities assigned by supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. 
  • unencumbered Registered nurse with a current clear FL state license.
  • Two years’ experience in geriatric nursing and/or B.S. Degree in nursing. Participation in professional organizations, dealing primarily in geriatrics preferred. Minimum of two years nursing administration experience, preferably in a long-term care setting. NADONA certification a plus.
  • Solid computer proficiency.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Many roles in the community may require that we ask about your vaccination status. This could include MMR, chicken pox, hepatitis and flu.

Skills Required
