Job Description

Nordstrom is seeking a fashion obsessed, motivated, detail-oriented, reliable team player to support the Zella women’s design team through the creative process.  Our ideal assistant designer candidate can follow creative direction, meet deadlines, is flexible, consistent, and inquisitive all while producing successful outcomes.  

A day in the life…

  • Supports Designer / Snr Designer with all design functions for category(s) or brand(s) - including collab prep, sketching, coloring cads.  
  • Supports design leadership in office to build and curate all visual tools needed to support seasonal story telling for their team.  
  • Accountable for design tech pack creation and style production maintenance. This involves ability to manage a high level of complexity.   
  • Focuses on customer and continuously researches to understand customer, trends, and shifts in the competitive landscapes.    
  • Builds strong, synergistic relationships with all cross functional partners.   
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement that pushes innovation and accelerates successful outcomes.   
     

You own this if you have…

  • Bachelor's or associate degree in design  
  • 0-2 years’ experience in design industry
  • Strong college portfolio and CV resume  
  • Clear and effective written and verbal communication and strong interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently or as a team.  
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite, Adobe CS and ability to hand-sketch. Ability to quickly adapt to new technology and systems.  
  • Ability to work independently or as a team.  
  • Strong time management, follow through, and a desire to achieve meaningful results.

Pay Range Details

Pay offers are dependent on the location, as well as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

Washington $60,500-96,000

This position may be eligible for performance-based incentives/bonuses. Benefits include 401k, medical/vision/dental/life/disability insurance options, PTO accruals, Holidays, and more.
