Arrowhead Intermediaries is seeking Assistant Controller to join our growing team!

Reporting to the Divisional Controller - Arrowhead Intermediaries of Brown & Brown Insurance, the Assistant Controller will work closely with finance leadership to complete the month-end process and provide support in streamlining processes as well as ensuring the processes are being followed by performing the following duties.

How You Will Contribute: 

  • Oversee timely, accurate month‑end and quarter‑end close processes in compliance with corporate and regulatory deadlines.
  • Manage consolidation of financial data across divisions to support reliable internal and external reporting.
  • Provide technical accounting guidance, including revenue recognition (ASC 606) and other complex accounting matters; research compliance issues as needed.
  • Prepare, review, and approve journal entries; coordinate and prepare financial statements.
  • Perform and review monthly CSA packages in accordance with the Brown & Brown internal control framework.
  • Analyze balance sheet and income statement accounts, identify variances or trends, and drive corrective actions and continuous improvement.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor internal controls to ensure compliance with GAAP, audit standards, and public‑company requirements.
  • Oversee transactional processes including accounts receivable, accounts payable, cash controls, and bad‑debt mitigation in partnership with client and accounting teams.
  • Evaluate accounting processes and leverage automation to improve efficiency, strengthen controls, and support operational scalability.
  • Partner with finance and operational leadership to deliver reporting, analytics, and insights supporting growth and performance; support acquisition integrations as needed.
  • Lead and contribute to special projects, manage multiple priorities, and meet evolving business needs and deadlines.
  • Build and develop high‑performing teams through recruiting, training, coaching, professional development, and ongoing education; perform other duties as assigned.

  Licenses & Certifications:  

  • CPA

Skills & Experience to be Successful:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
  • A minimum of 10+ years’ experience in accounting or financial leadership role
  • Proven leadership skills in managing and developing a team.
  • Experience in delivering projects and initiatives that deliver measurable financial results with a focus on driving organic growth.
  • Proven ability to effectively interact with leadership in a dynamic environment.
  • Advanced level proficiency in Microsoft suite; focus on Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Master’s degree in related field (preferred)
  • Insurance industry experience (preferred)
  • Up to 10% travel, assisting with the integration of new acquisitions, special projects, and visiting offices as needed
