Assistant ControllerLutheran Services Carolinas
Lutheran Services Carolinas is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Assistant Controller to support the financial operations of our mission-driven organization. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing day-to-day accounting functions, supporting financial reporting, maintaining internal controls, and supervising accounting team members while partnering closely with the Controller.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee daily accounting operations and supervise accounting, accounts payable, and payroll/benefits teammates.
- Ensure accurate and timely monthly closings, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Assist with the preparation of internal and external financial statements and annual audits.
- Establish and maintain financial systems and controls that ensure data integrity and compliance.
- Support special projects, financial analysis, and management reporting initiatives.
- Collaborate with leadership and operational teams to support organizational goals.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, including managerial experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Demonstrated professionalism, integrity, and ethical conduct.
Preferred
- CPA license and/or advanced degree.
