Market America | SHOP.COM, a product brokerage and Internet marketing company that specializes in One-to-One Marketing, is seeking an experienced Assistant Controller.
Position Summary:
The Assistant Controller will perform daily, monthly, and quarterly accounting functions for corporate and branch locations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepares monthly consolidated financial package for executive management.
- Performs month end closing procedures and analyzes balance sheet accounts to ensure accuracy.
- Monitors cash balances and reconciles bank accounts to ensure sufficient accounts levels.
- Participates in supervision of personnel to meet expectations.
- Prepares and assists external accountants to ensure accuracy and timeliness of governmental filings.
- Directs communication with foreign branch locations to continue daily and monthly operations.
- Provides input for process improvement to increase efficient operations.
- Complies with company policies and procedures.
- Works on specific projects and issues as such needs arise
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Directs the work of others. Participates in the hiring process, performance evaluation, discipline, and rewarding.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
- CPA preferred.
- At least three to five years of experience in accounting.
- Or an equivalent combination of education, experience, and training.
- Experience with multi-currency.
Skills:
- Proficient use MS Office Products.
- Above moderate level of English speaking, writing, and reading comprehension; active listening; critical thinking; judgment; mathematics; evaluation; and attention to detail.
Skills Required
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- CPA
- Three to five years of accounting experience
- Or an equivalent combination of education, experience, and training
- Experience with multi-currency
