Assistant – Commercial
(Based at Bodywear - Ratmalana)

Embark on a journey of change with MAS, by joining the Bodywear team as an Assistant – Commercial based at Ratmalana. We are on the lookout for a dedicated individual to assist in operational activities of Procurement and logistics sections; ensuring accuracy & timeliness of deliverables to aid the overall process for the department.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Follow up physical movement of the shipment with the wharf team until the shipment is passed through the customs to CFS/port, else escalate.
- Obtain carrier and cargo forwarding details from the forwarders and prepare final documents. Update customers / customer own systems as per the individual requirements of the customer.
- Prepare and obtain all statutory certificates customers require in relation to economic and non-economic requirements of importing countries.
- Raise invoices for shipment effected and support commercial finance to follow up payments.
- Update all the shipment information/ASN.
- File and maintain all the shipping documents in an organized and orderly manner required by the customs law and the customer for the specified period.
- Process payments for invoices of service providers and update records.
- Forward final instruction and container load plan to the forwarder.
- Monitor physical movement of the shipment.
- Follow-up carrier and cargo forwarding final documents and update customer.
- Follow up booking forms with relevant FG / or plant
- Ensure maintenance of shipping documents as per customs law and the customer for the specified period.
- Reconcile payments settled for the invoices of service providers.
- Perform additional duties commensurate with the current role, and when requested by management.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Pursuing / Completed Diploma and currently in 2nd year or 3rd year Undergraduates following Shipping and Logistics or Business Management
Strong communication in English and methodical skills
Proficient in Microsoft package especially in Excel
Ability to work well in a team and collaborate effectively
Leadership skills and experience in team management
Skills Required
- Pursuing or completed a diploma, and currently in the second or third year of an undergraduate program in Shipping and Logistics or Business Management
- Strong English communication skills
- Methodical working skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Ability to work effectively in a team and collaborate
- Leadership skills and team management experience
