We are seeking a Graduate / Assistant Accountant to join our Northgate Finance team on a permanent basis. Reporting to the Senior Financial Accountant you will provide accurate and timely financial information to support our business across Australia & New Zealand. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a large, head office finance team and be part of a global organisation that makes a positive impact to our vet customers and pet owners.
Your responsibilities will include –
End of month preparation including journals, accruals and balance sheet reconciliations.
Preparation of bank reconciliations for high volume trading accounts.
Maintaining accuracy of the general ledger.
Providing variance analysis and other supplementary reporting to management and as required for US reporting purposes.
Assisting with budget preparation and forecasting.
Assisting with compliance with Internal Controls.
Assisting with various projects and business improvement initiatives.
Assisting with auditor queries as required.
About You
Ideally you will display –
Previous accounting experience of approximately 1-2 years.
Minimum requirement – studying towards Accounting bachelor degree.
Understanding of AR, AP and GL modules within a commercial environment.
Medium to high level knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
Well developed interpersonal skills with an ability to adapt your communication to suit different internal stakeholders.
Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritise your work in an agile way.
A positive, proactive attitude with a focus on seeking out continuous improvement opportunities.
