We’re looking for an Asphalt Plant Supervisor to join our team in Auckland. You’ll lead day-to-day plant operations, coordinate production and maintenance, and make sure quality asphalt is ready when our crews need it, helping us deliver safer, more reliable roads across the region.

Mō te tūranga | About the role

This is a hands-on leadership role at one of our critical Auckland asphalt plants, where reliable production keeps road construction, resurfacing and maintenance work moving. You’ll oversee plant operations, people, materials and compliance, making sure asphalt is produced safely, efficiently and to specification each day. It’s a role with real impact: when the plant runs well, projects stay on schedule, costs stay under control, and communities get durable roads that are fit for purpose. We take the work seriously, not ourselves, and you’ll join a team that backs good ideas and high standards.

Ngā tino kawenga mahi | Key role responsibilities

  • Lead the safe and efficient day-to-day operation of the asphalt plant.

  • Coordinate production schedules, plant staff and material supply to meet project demand.

  • Oversee plant maintenance and work closely with the team to minimise downtime.

  • Monitor asphalt quality and compliance standards, ensuring product is delivered to specification.

  • Drive continuous improvement across plant performance, safety, housekeeping and cost control.

  • Experience in asphalt production, plant operations, or a similar industrial or manufacturing environment.

  • Basic financial understanding, including an awareness of budget considerations and the factors that influence financial outcomes.

  • Basic computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Excel.

  • Proven people leadership skills, with the ability to coordinate teams and keep work moving.

  • A strong focus on safety, quality and operational compliance.

  • Good planning, problem-solving and communication skills.

  • A proactive, accountable approach and the confidence to identify better ways of working.
