Based in Singapore, the Asia South Cluster Business Execution SVP reports to the Asia South Cluster Business Execution Head.
The Asia South Cluster Business Execution team is responsible for driving strategic and business-critical initiatives and programs, uplifting and streamlining governance, and cultivating a robust risk and control environment among other critical activities within the Asia South Cluster.
Key Requirements
Strategy / Financial Management
- Champion key initiatives on behalf of the cluster. Independently execute deep dives and standalone projects related to risk and control, business execution, and strategy
- Support headcount and budget management for Asia South Cluster and countries. Engage in cost management activities, such as validating spending and cost saving initiatives, monitoring savings initiatives and expenses, as well as monitoring consistency between financial information, productivity information and HR reports
- Identify opportunities to optimize costs, propose initiatives, and support creation of direct expense plans in partnership with Finance and country Business Execution teams
Risk and Controls / Governance
- Support the Asia South Cluster and Banking Head and Asia South Cluster Business Execution Head on promoting a culture of proactive controls; ensure issue management best practices are adopted at the country and cluster levels; coordinate escalation of potential gaps and issues
- Coordinate production of cluster governance committee materials and completion of related tasks and follow up items, ensuring all applicable internal governance requirements are met
- Act as Delegate for Hub Managed Countries (HMC) process for the Asia South Cluster; lead 1LOD country risk management processes as applicable
- Engage with global teams on regular updates as well as escalations to global governance committees; provide guidance to country Business Execution teams on best practices and escalation mechanisms and thresholds on a case-by-case basis
- Ensure Asia South Cluster Business Execution Head is aware of all key issues affecting the franchise. Support due diligence and discussions on resolving issues within the cluster. Know when to recommend escalation of the same to the cluster for arbitration
- Instill discipline across country Business Execution Leads on importance of governance and risk and control; break down silos across the businesses and functions, especially for issues with multiple stakeholders
- Support internal audits, reviews, and regulatory exams as required
Communication / Engagement
- Act as the point of contact for Asia South Country Business Execution Leads on relevant matters, initiatives, and projects
- Represent Asia South Cluster in global forums, meetings, and working groups as appropriate
- Support employee engagement initiatives for the Business Execution community as well as the broader Asia South Cluster
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in financial services
- Proven experience in stakeholder management and indirect influence
- Knowledge of the financial services industry and technology; strong knowledge of Citi processes, polices and frameworks
- Proven ability to work in a team of diverse skill sets and cultures
- Proven ability to work in high-pressure, time-sensitive environments
- Demonstration of clear and concise written and verbal communication appropriate for all levels of an organization
Education
- Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience
- Master's degree preferred
