Primary Responsibilities:
- Define and govern system architecture for RQ Core and Prospective programs, ensuring scalability, security, resiliency, and alignment with enterprise architecture standards
- Lead the architecture and execution of the 2026 Cornerstone decommissioning, designing migration strategies, target-state architectures, and risk-mitigation plans to ensure seamless legacy retirement
- Drive AI-enabled modernization and automation initiatives, identifying opportunities to improve platform efficiency, observability, and engineering productivity
- Design and standardize microservices and event-driven architectures using Java, Spring Boot, Kafka, and MongoDB, ensuring high throughput, fault tolerance, and extensibility
- Provide architectural leadership for cloud-native and container platforms, guiding Kubernetes (K8s) adoption, service orchestration, scalability patterns, and operational best practices
- Act as a technical mentor and decision authority, collaborating with engineering, product, security, and platform teams to review designs, resolve complex technical challenges, and ensure long-term system stability
- Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). Required Qualifications:
- Graduate degree or equivalent experience
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent extensive industry experience
- Extensive experience designing and leading enterprise-scale systems using Java and Spring Boot in distributed and microservices-based architectures
- Proven experience designing data architectures using MongoDB and other modern data stores, with a focus on performance, security, and scalability
- Deep understanding of event-driven and streaming architectures, with hands-on experience using Kafka for high-volume, mission-critical systems
- Proven solid expertise in cloud-native architecture, including Kubernetes (K8s), containerization, service meshes, and deployment automation
- Demonstrated leadership in modernization and transformation initiatives, including legacy decommissioning, system migration, and enforcing architectural standards across multiple teams.
