We are seeking motivated Apprentice Electricians to join our team working on state-of-the-art data center construction projects. This is an exceptional opportunity to learn advanced electrical systems while working alongside experienced journeymen and foremen on cutting-edge technology infrastructure that powers cloud computing, AI, and the digital world.
Apprentice Electricians will gain hands-on experience with data center-specific electrical systems including medium voltage (MV) and low voltage (LV) distribution, critical power systems, cable tray installations, and mission-critical infrastructure that most electricians never see in their careers.
WHAT YOU'LL LEARNData Center Electrical Systems:
- Medium voltage (MV) and low voltage (LV) power distribution
- Critical power systems (UPS, generators, automatic transfer switches)
- Power distribution units (PDUs) and remote power panels (RPPs)
- Busway and bus duct installations
- Emergency power systems and battery backup
- Redundant power architectures (N+1, 2N configurations)
Installation Skills:
- Conduit installation (EMT, rigid, stainless steel) - 1/2" through 4"
- Cable tray systems (basket tray, ladder rack, channel)
- Wire pulling (power, control, data cables)
- Grounding and bonding systems
- Equipment terminations (panels, transformers, disconnects)
- Communication and fiber optic cable support infrastructure
Technical Knowledge:
- Blueprint reading and electrical schematics
- Data center electrical standards and specifications
- National Electrical Code (NEC) compliance
- Safety procedures and OSHA standards
- Quality control and inspection processes
Under Supervision of Licensed Journeymen:
- Assist with conduit installation (measuring, cutting, bending, threading, assembling)
- Help install cable tray and ladder rack systems
- Pull wire and cable through conduit and cable tray
- Assist with equipment installations (panels, transformers, disconnects)
- Install grounding and bonding systems
- Prepare materials and organize tools for installations
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas
- Load and unload materials and equipment
- Follow blueprints and electrical drawings
- Perform quality checks and inspections
- Attend daily safety meetings (toolbox talks)
- Comply with all safety protocols and wear required PPE
Education & Licensing:
- High school diploma or GED (required)
- Enrolled in state-approved electrical apprenticeship program OR willing to enroll upon hire
- Valid driver's license
Physical Requirements:
- Able to lift and carry 50+ lbs regularly
- Able to stand, walk, bend, climb, and work at heights for extended periods
- Comfortable working on ladders, scissor lifts, and elevated platforms
- Able to work in various conditions (indoor climate-controlled data halls and outdoor construction areas)
- Physically capable of performing manual labor
