Business Overview
Credit & Fraud Risk (CFR) teams play a critical role in protecting American Express, our customers, and our brand. Our teams leverage data, analytics, technology, and innovative risk management practices to identify, monitor, and mitigate credit and fraud risks across the customer lifecycle. We help shape innovative customer experiences and digital products by building intelligent, scalable, and data-driven risk capabilities. Apprentices will gain exposure to how analytics, technology, and product thinking come together to solve business problems and enable growth.

ResponsibilitiesJoin the team and make an impact right away (Key Responsibilities):
Product & Business
Gain exposure to how Credit & Fraud Risk teams support business growth, customer experience, and risk management decisions.
Partner with cross-functional teams to support product enhancements, business initiatives, and innovation opportunities.
Participate in activities across the product lifecycle, including discovery, testing, implementation, and performance monitoring.
Learn how data, technology, and business insights come together to solve real-world problems.
Data & Analytics
Support analytical and reporting activities to identify trends, patterns, and business insights.
Work with data and visualization tools such as SQL, Python, Excel, Power BI, or Tableau.
Gain exposure to data governance, data quality, and process improvement practices.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Passion for data, analytics, and risk management
- Curious mindset with eagerness to learn and explore new ideas
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to interpret data and derive meaningful insights
- Knowledge of SQL, Python, Excel, Power BI/Tableau, or other analytical tools is preferred
- Familiarity with Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), automation tools/techniques (RPA, ETL tools, Machine Learning etc.), data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau etc.) is preferred
- Understanding of financial services, fraud risk, credit risk, or compliance concepts is a plus

Educational Requirements
- Candidates must have completed graduation under Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in:
- Engineering
- Mathematics
- Statistics
- Economics
- Computer Science
- Data Science
- Business Analytics
- Finance
- or other relevant quantitative disciplines
