We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Apprentice Engineer to join our Embedded Firmware Validation team in Bangalore. This opportunity is ideal for recent graduates who are passionate about embedded systems, firmware testing, and product quality, and are eager to build a career in the technology industry serving Utilities and Energy customers.


As an Apprentice Engineer, you will work closely with experienced engineers to validate embedded firmware running on ARM-based microcontrollers, execute firmware and protocol testing activities, support test automation initiatives, and contribute to the quality and reliability of innovative products. This role provides hands-on experience in firmware validation, debugging, protocol testing, and automation within a collaborative and agile engineering environment.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist in validating embedded firmware functionality, performance, reliability, and quality across product development initiatives.
  • Execute firmware verification, validation, and regression test cases to ensure compliance with product requirements.
  • Support protocol testing activities and verify communication between embedded devices and associated systems.
  • Analyze test results, identify defects, and assist with troubleshooting and root cause analysis activities.
  • Work closely with senior engineers to investigate firmware issues and support product quality improvements.
  • Participate in the development, execution, and maintenance of automated test scripts and test frameworks.
  • Contribute to the testing and validation of RF-enabled and battery-operated devices where applicable.
  • Document test procedures, test results, defects, and verification reports in a clear and organized manner.
  • Collaborate with firmware, hardware, and cross-functional engineering teams to support successful product releases.
  • Participate actively in agile activities, including planning sessions, reviews, retrospectives, and team discussions.
  • Demonstrate accountability for assigned tasks and ensure timely completion of deliverables while maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Contribute innovative ideas that improve firmware validation processes, test automation, product reliability, and team effectiveness.

Required Skills & Experience:

Education Required

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Must have graduated recently or be graduating in 2025.
  • No active backlogs at the time of application.

Eligibility Requirements

  • No prior full-time work experience.
  • No prior apprenticeship experience.
  • Work Model: This role follows a hybrid work model. Team members may be required to attend the office based on business needs, team collaboration requirements, and the office attendance cadence established by their manager.

Technical Skills

  • Good understanding of embedded systems and embedded firmware validation concepts.
  • Good understanding of firmware development and debugging using C and/or Assembly language.
  • Good understanding of ARM-based microcontrollers and embedded architectures.
  • Knowledge of firmware testing methodologies, validation techniques, and defect tracking processes.
  • Understanding of communication protocol testing and protocol validation concepts.
  • Familiarity with RF-enabled and battery-operated devices is desirable.
  • Basic knowledge of test automation concepts and scripting practices.
  • Exposure to automation programming languages such as Python or C# is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
  • Understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and quality assurance practices.

  • Familiarity with Agile development and testing methodologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with geographically distributed and diverse teams.
