Micron is offering one (1) Field Applications Engineer apprenticeship opportunity within our Global Customer Engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience and develop your skills in a dynamic and innovative environment.
As an apprentice, you will be working closely with our experienced Field Application Engineers, learning the ins and outs of the product design in, technical problem solving and customer relationship processes.
Responsibilities and Tasks- Help customers and memory enablers to solve memory-related technical issues with their designs
- Assist as a member of one or more Micron Sales teams, learning about managing key customer relationships and driving design activities to sustain and expand existing business
- Collaborate with customers and memory enablers to achieve Design Wins and qualify Micron memory products in their applications, tracking and measuring the timeliness and value of these design wins systematically
- Engage with customers and memory enablers to understand their applications and recommend Micron products that best suit their needs
- Discover the needs of our customers and memory enablers that may require new Micron products or features to fulfill, and evaluate their feasibility with Micron’s Marketing and Applications Engineering teams
- Deliver product training and technical advice to the Micron field sales force, our distribution partners, customers, and memory enablers
- Work with marketing and factory applications engineering to review and respond to product specifications and technical questionnaires submitted by customers and memory enablers
- Guide our distribution partners, customers and memory enablers to our information resources including product guides, cross references, technical notes, marketing, compliance etc.
- Currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Electronic, Electrical, Computer Science Engineering or similar Engineering discipline. Holder of a Bachelor’s or Master of Science degree in electronics, electrical or computer sciences Engineering is preferred.
- Has a strong interest in Systems Architecture, Design and problem solving within the high-tech industry, including electronics applications and the semiconductor sector
- Knowledge or interest in any of the end market applications that Micron supports in Europe which include Industrial, IoT Edge, Consumer, Networking, Automotive, AI plus many others.
- Technical knowledge and understanding of memory technologies is an advantage
- Understanding high-speed digital signal integrity, simulation and modeling is an advantage
- Exhibits strong analytical capabilities and troubleshooting skills
- Self-motivated with the capability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team setting
- Energetic team player with a commitment to high performance.
- Has a customer-focused mindset with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong English language skills, both oral and written
- Flexible and adaptable to a dynamic work environment.
- Good organizational skills with the ability to multi-task.
- A desire to learn and succeed and demonstrating curiosity
- Willing to work in a diverse and inclusive environment.
- Computer skills in Microsoft Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel), ERP/CRM systems (SAP, Salesforce.com, SharePoint, Model N) are desirable.
This apprenticeship includes the opportunity for frequent travel to customer visits, events, and training sessions. During your apprenticeship, you will represent Micron in a highly professional manner both virtually and face-to-face. You will have the opportunity to learn about establishing, developing, and managing strategic customer account relationships from tactical to executive level. You will get experience of working in global cross-functional virtual account teams. You will have the opportunity to develop presentation skills for customer and internal meetings.
