The Insurance Compliance Specialist ensures that organizations comply with industry specifications, standards, regulations, and laws. They will be responsible for reviewing and helping develop admitted and non-admitted personal and commercial line product forms as well as overseeing the tracking of new and existing state statutes and existing state statutes and regulations that impact these products. This ideal candidate is responsible for end-to-end compliance.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist in the implementation and enforcement of compliance strategy and programs that are effective in preventing violations of statutes, regulations, and company policies.
Provide guidance to the business on required changes to new products, services, and geographies.
Serve on business projects as needed, including new product development.
Assess risks and identify potential areas of compliance vulnerability.
Assist compliance manager, legal counsel, and business leaders in the resolution of potential risks and vulnerability.
Assist business and product managers in the review, preparation, and submission of accurate and timely filings of rates, rules and forms to state insurance departments.
Where requested, assist in the response to filing objections as well as communicate with the DOI and participate in meetings with the DOI to help negotiate and secure approvals of filings within established timeframes.
Consistently monitor any proposed and/or enacted legislation as well as regulatory bulletins and notices.
Research and interpret statutes, regulations, and State Insurance Department bulletins and notices to properly analyze and understand their applicability to the various business units and product lines.
Prepare and issue communications to business leaders and legal counsel regarding State Insurance Department moratoria, bulletins, or notices.
Provide guidance to the product team regarding any updates to policy forms, notices, and disclosures resulting from any state specific statutory and/or regulatory changes.
Collaborate with respective business teams to effectuate the updates and revisions and ensure system implementation of such updates and revisions.
Assist in the preparation and review of materials and information required in response to internal and external regulatory audits, data calls and surveys and assist in drafting responsive communications to the requesting parties or regulatory authorities.
Partner with the applicable business segments in preparation of and response to internal and external audits and examinations, including remediation plans resulting from such audits and exams.
Collaborate with the applicable business segments to prepare accurate and timely responses to insurance consumer complaints received from various State Insurance Departments, the Better Business Bureau, social media, or directly from consumers.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's Degree.
At least 5-7 years relevant, compliance experience.
