The Applications Development Senior Programmer Analyst is an intermediate-to-senior level role responsible for leading and participating in the architecture, design, and full-lifecycle development of robust, scalable full-stack applications. This role focuses on modern distributed systems engineering using Java/Spring Boot microservices, React.js frontends, relational (Oracle/SQL) and document (MongoDB) databases, and containerized deployments across modern cloud environments (Docker, Kubernetes, ECS).
Additionally, the role requires working familiarity with Generative AI (GenAI) integrations to drive intelligent workflow automation, smart assistants, and next-generation engineering productivity.
Key Responsibilities
Full-Stack Architecture & Development
- Backend & Microservices: Design, develop, and maintain high-performance, resilient microservices and RESTful APIs using Java (8/11/17+), Spring Boot, and modern enterprise integration patterns.
- Frontend Engineering: Build responsive, accessible, and intuitive single-page applications (SPAs) and user interfaces using React.js, TypeScript/JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, and modern state management libraries (Redux, Context API).
- Database Design & Management: Model, optimize, and manage both relational databases (Oracle / SQL) and NoSQL document stores (MongoDB), ensuring optimal query performance, indexing strategies, and data consistency.
- Generative AI Integration: Implement basic to intermediate GenAI capabilities (e.g., LLM API integrations, prompt design, RAG patterns, embeddings, and intelligent agents) into existing workflows and business applications.
Cloud & Containerized DevOps
- Containerization & Orchestration: Package, deploy, and manage containerized workloads using Docker, Kubernetes, and container platforms such as Amazon ECS / OpenShift / Enterprise Cloud Services.
- CI/CD & Automation: Integrate code into automated CI/CD build and release pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, Tekton, Harness), enforcing code quality, automated testing, and security scanning.
Systems Analysis, Design & Leadership
- Conduct feasibility studies, technical assessments, time/cost estimates, and IT planning to deliver technology solutions aligned with business strategy.
- Monitor and govern all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including requirements analysis, system architecture, coding, unit/integration testing, and production rollout.
- Recommend and implement robust application security standards, role-based access controls (RBAC), and vulnerability remediations throughout the application lifecycle.
- Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and mentor junior engineers, fostering engineering best practices, code reviews, and technical documentation.
- Operate with high independence of judgment, collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders, product managers, and enterprise architecture teams.
- Proactively manage and assess risk, adhering strictly to firm policies, regulatory compliance, and governance frameworks.
Professional Experience
- 8-12 years of professional software development experience in full-stack engineering and distributed systems.
- Proven track record of designing, building, and deploying enterprise-grade Spring Boot microservices and React.js web applications.
- Strong hands-on experience in containerized deployments using Docker, Kubernetes, or ECS.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze complex architectural and business problems and deliver scalable solutions.
- Strong communication, analytical thinking, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to operate autonomously in a fast-paced, delivery-focused environment.
- Bachelor’s degree / University degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
