Applications and Range Systems Manager

The Applications and Range Systems Manager is responsible for leading all software applications development, business systems support, and real-time range systems administration for the Atlantic Undersea Test and Evaluation Center (AUTEC). This role integrates technical leadership, project management, cybersecurity compliance, and hands-on oversight of both enterprise and range mission systems. The manager will supervise software developers, network/system administrators, and range systems personnel to ensure reliable, secure, and mission-ready operations.

This is an on-site position based on Andros Island, The Bahamas.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Government Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship required).

Essential Responsibilities:

Leadership & Management

• Provide technical and administrative leadership to the Applications Development and Range Systems teams.
• Oversee workload distribution, performance management, and training for developers, system administrators, and network/range support personnel.
• Coordinate with other AUTEC departments, government customers, and management to ensure systems and software meet mission requirements.
• Manage multi-disciplinary project implementations involving software, servers, networks, and real-time range systems.

Applications & Software Oversight

• Direct design, development, deployment, and maintenance of AUTEC business and operational applications built using Microsoft Visual Studio, ASP.NET, C#, .NET 4.8, and .NET Core.
• Provide architectural guidance for application modernization, including migrations from .NET 4.8 to .NET Core.
• Ensure secure coding practices and compliance with DoD Information Assurance requirements.
• Oversee configuration management, source code control, code reviews, testing, documentation, and release management.
• Support integration, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of AUTEC’s software ecosystem.

Range Systems & Real-Time Environment Support

• Provide leadership and strategic guidance for configuration management, quality assurance, and software distribution in AUTEC’s real-time operational environment.
• Responsible for ensuring Real-Time applications remain fully available and mission-ready at all times.
• Support real-time mission operations, including periodic 24-hour on-call availability during critical range events.
• Ensure documentation, requirements specifications, and system test plans are developed and maintained for all range systems.
• Serve as escalation point for troubleshooting range software, system failures, and customer-reported issues.

Cybersecurity & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with DoD IA requirements across all applications and range systems.
• Maintain required security forms, logs, and documentation supporting secure facilities and systems.

Administrative Responsibilities

• Maintain property control tracking, perform office safety/security inspections, and manage required administrative actions for IT secure spaces.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related discipline; or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of progressive IT enterprise experience including software development, systems administration, or range/mission system support; or 2+ years of direct management experience.
• CompTIA Security+ CE (required).
• Must have strong experience with Microsoft Windows, and enterprise server/network environments.
• Must be skilled in MS Office especially creating and modifying Excel sheets with complex functions.
• Demonstrated experience in leading technical teams and managing multi-disciplinary IT projects.
• Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
• Must be able to reside in a remote location with limited medical facilities.
• Valid passport and driver’s license required.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Government Clearance (U.S. Citizenship required).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with AUTEC real-time systems or similar DoD test-range systems.
• Technical certifications such as CCNA, Microsoft, Linux+, Project+, A+.
• Experience with software QA, testing procedures, and documentation.
• Experience with CI/CD, Git/GitLab, Agile development methodologies
• Experience leading teams in remote or austere operating environments.
