As an Application Engineer II — DCS & Power Management Systems here at Honeywell, you will design, configure, implement, test, and support DCS and Power Management System applications for industrial automation projects. This role builds on hardware and control-system fundamentals and focuses on application engineering areas such as HMI, control configuration, system integration, DCS/PMS interfaces, testing support, and technical documentation. Your role will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure the seamless integration of software & hardware components, enhancing the overall performance and reliability of our control systems. You will produce portions of technical design specifications, execute implementation, testing, and documentation to Honeywell standards, and build cross-discipline experience while reporting progress and technical issues to project and engineering supervisors. You will report directly to our Mexico Projects & Automation Solutions Global Engineering Services Leader and work out of our designated location in Mexico City as based location and work out at Customer sites supporting primarily Americas Region as well. The work schedule for this role is Hybrid when work is performed at Office, when travelling or working at customer industrial sites is full time as per customer requirements.

In this role, you will impact on the efficiency and reliability of control systems, ensuring that our solutions meet the highest standards for our clients in the Power and, Oil & Gas sector. Furthermore, you will gaining hands-on experience that will enhance your skills and knowledge in the field of Experion PKS-based DCS projects and Power Management System functionality.

Responsibilities
  • Configure and support DCS application functions for Experion PKS projects, including control strategies, HMI-related deliverables, system interfaces, and application documentation.
  • Assist in the design and implementation of hardware solutions for Experion PKS control systems.
  • Collaborate with team members to define hardware and software requirements and specifications.
  • Collaborate with hardware engineers, system engineers, project engineers, power engineers, and customer stakeholders to define requirements and resolve technical issues.
  • Support engineering design, application testing, validation, FAT, SAT, and commissioning activities.
  • Execute implementation work assignments to appropriate Honeywell standards and quality systems.
  • Execute test work assignments to appropriate standards and quality systems.
  • Troubleshoot application, configuration, integration, and testing issues, escalating technical risks to project leadership when required.
  • Support system design reviews and coordinate with power engineers where PMS and electrical system integration are required.
  • Report progress and technical problems to project and engineering supervisors.
Qualifications

YOU MUST HAVE

  • Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline (e.g., Electrical, Mechatronics, Control Automation) with Professional license Number.
  • 3-5 years of experience in control systems engineering or related field.
  • Good communication skills in English language
  • Well-versed in Microsoft Office: MS Word, MS Excel & MS Power Point and MS Visio.
  • Strong knowledge of hardware and applications design principles and methodologies.
  • Familiarity with CAD software for system design.
  • Understanding of control systems and their applications in the Oil and Gas industry.
  • Foundational knowledge of hardware & control applications design for industrial control/automation systems.
  • Basic familiarity with Honeywell or equivalent industry standards and quality systems (training provided).
  • Strong documentation skills; consistency and accuracy in deliverables.
  • Ability to collaborate in cross-functional engineering teams and take direction constructively.
  • Availability to travel to customer industrial sites across the Americas region for project implementation, commissioning, and troubleshooting activities.
