Application Engineer
Overview
The Application Engineer will report directly to the Global Application Engineer Manager and play a crucial role in supporting the sales, engineering, and marketing teams within the passive fire protection market. This position will involve providing technical expertise, assisting in project management, and contributing to industry engagement activities.
Responsibilities
- Technical Support:
- Provide technical support to internal and external stakeholders, including sales teams, engineers, architects, contractors, and customers.
- Assist in the selection, design, and application of passive fire protection systems.
- Ensure compliance with local and international fire safety standards and regulations.
- Product Knowledge:
- Develop a deep understanding of passive fire protection products, systems, global codes, testing, and certification requirements.
- Training and Education:
- Participate in training programs for AHJs, mechanical engineers, and architects.
- Conduct product presentations, technical seminars, and workshops.
- Project Management:
- Collaborate with other departments, product development, and sales teams.
- Provide technical support during project design and construction phases.
- Fire Testing and Certification:
- Assist in managing fire testing and certification processes.
- Technical Input for Mar-Com Team:
- Contribute to social media content, technical presentations, video creation materials, data sheets, promotional materials, and website information.
- Industry Engagement:
- Participate in industry associations, regulatory bodies, and standards organizations.
- Monitor codes and standards that affect the business unit.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Identify areas for improvement and implement process enhancements.
- Foster innovation to deliver better products and services.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, or Fire Protection Engineering preferred)
- 1-3 years of experience in the passive fire protection industry
- Strong technical knowledge of passive fire protection systems and regulations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification in fire protection engineering or a related field
- Experience in project management
- Knowledge of building codes and industry standards
- Proficiency in technical writing and presentation skills

Salary:
- $90,000pa
