Role Overview
As an Altera FPGA Application Engineer, you will act as a trusted technical advisor, guiding and supporting customers in the design, implementation, and optimization of Altera (Intel) FPGA–based solutions. You will work closely with customers, field engineering, sales, and supplier teams to solve complex technical challenges and enable successful customer designs.
Key Responsibilities
Provide expert technical support for Altera (Intel) FPGA–related customer requests, addressing design challenges and ensuring successful implementation of customer requirements.
Interface with Field Application Engineers (FAEs), field sales, and customers to ensure effective technical collaboration and timely follow-up on field inquiries.
Support customer FPGA designs in areas such as RTL design, custom IP development, platform and device migration, and system-level optimization on Altera FPGA platforms.
Collaborate closely with software and hardware engineers on complex, multi-disciplinary customer design projects.
Review customer designs at RTL and architecture level, providing feedback and guidance aligned with Altera FPGA best practices.
Support New Product Introduction (NPI) initiatives by developing benchmarks, reference designs, demonstrations, and proof points based on the latest Altera FPGA devices and technologies.
Skills & Experience
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
6+ years of hands-on experience in FPGA design or applications engineering, with a strong focus on Altera (Intel) FPGA devices and toolchains.
Solid experience with industry-standard FPGA development environments, including RTL design, simulation, synthesis, timing analysis, and debugging.
Hands-on experience with measurement and lab equipment (e.g., multimeters, oscilloscopes, power measurement techniques).
Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
Strong ability to build relationships with internal stakeholders across Arrow and communicate effectively at all organizational levels.
Customer-focused, solution-oriented mindset with strong problem-solving skills and drive for results.
Proactive and self-motivated; able to work independently as well as part of a global team.
