ResponsibilitiesPrimary Responsibilities
- Provide technical support and expertise to clients and internal teams on drilling applications and technologies, including independent technical recommendations during drilling operations.
- Provide independent field operations support for drilling tools and MWD product lines.
- Engineer solutions to improve customer performance utilizing products from across the business’s portfolio.
- Collaborate with Sales to provide technical market intelligence, application trends and competitive performance feedback.
- Partner with regional Sales and Account Representatives to provide technical expertise throughout the customer lifecycle.
- Analyse drilling performance using operational data, KPIs and drilling analytics tools to identify optimization opportunities and improve customer outcomes.
- Determine the causes of drilling dynamics from drilling logs and data and apply this information to improve drilling tool performance through tool configuration or drilling system changes.
- Prepare and present customer presentations, performance summaries and run reports.
- Lead technical application investigations and provide operational analysis to support Reliability Engineering in root cause analysis and continuous product improvement.
- Conduct training sessions and workshops for both clients and internal staff on the use of drilling tool / MWD technologies and their applications.
- Manage the introduction of new products in the region coordinating between Product Line Engineering, Sales, and Reliability groups.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in drilling technologies and industry best practices.
- Assist with the implementation of procedures, best practices following knowledge management processes.
- Promote the technical image of NOV in the local area through membership of industry groups.
- Act as the regional technical focal point for assigned product lines.
- Support regional business growth through application expertise.
- Assist in training and mentoring of new engineers.
- Other duties as reasonably assigned by the company.
Qualifications
- A 4-year bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant oilfield experience, including exposure to downhole tools.
- Strong technical knowledge of drilling processes, including torque & drag analysis and hydraulics.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a diverse workforce and cross-functional departments.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong planning and organizational abilities, with the capacity to manage workload independently and responsibly.
- Proven technical problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with data analytics tools such as Power BI and Spotfire.
- Willingness to travel within SEA
- Proficiency in English
