About this opportunity:
We are now looking for a Microservice Developer to contribute to the evolution of the way networks are managed. Our ambition is to establish an OSS ecosystem, which will be the foundation of an open multi-vendor automation solution for Intelligent RAN Automation for both purpose-built RAN (Radio Access Networks) and cloud-RAN.
We are embracing a start-up mentality to deliver our automation product that delights customers, breaks the complexity of network management, and brings innovation at record speed!
This open app ecosystem will also facilitate customers' contributions that will realize their own specific use cases.
This is an opportunity to work on a major R&D program and be part of the most disruptive technology areas today. You will meet, learn and leverage concepts of automation, self-learning, cloud native microservices and dev-ops development models. Development will include creation of a cloud native platform for micros-services capable of deployment on multiple clouds with lab engagements.
About half of the development teams are located in Budapest and responsible for several microservices. Our multinational organization with its diverse culture supports a creative environment for innovation and creates products based on ideas from engineers - just like you. Besides software development, we are in close collaboration with supporting operations units in Ericsson with our Site Reliability Engineers within our teams.
Applications have a number of microservice engineering teams that build and own microservices which are composed of applications. Microservices are potentially used in more than one application and Microservices are used in different use cases dependent on the application. Microservice owning teams are not aware of all end-to-end use cases, in particular for services used in more than one application.
What you will do:
  • Be responsible for understanding the end to end functionality of the application and ensure that: application-level functionality is verified, application staging pipeline provides required feedback, identify impacts and provide ownership of application deliverables, tests, deployment charts, documentation
  • Facilitate Scrum ceremonies in a focused, timeboxed, and purposeful manner
  • Support the Product Owner with techniques for effective backlog management
  • Coach the team and Product Owner in Scrum values, practices, and rules
  • Shield the team from unnecessary interruptions and educate others about the team's way of working
  • Enable removal of impediments or escalate when needed to maintain delivery flow
  • Encourage continuous improvement in both agile practices and engineering practices

The skills you bring:
Experience in test automation
  • Automating functional use cases
  • API tests
  • Performance test
  • Knowledge of K6 Framework
  • Generating test reports
  • Visualization of test reports

Knowledge on observability
  • Prometheus
  • Grafana
  • Fault diagnoses and feedback to teams
  • Troubleshooting

Understanding of the platform
  • Infrastructure as code
  • Docker
  • Kubernetes
  • Helm
  • Jenkins

Ability in programming
  • Development with high-level languages such as Java, Javascript (K6), Python
  • Scripting/automation e.g. bash

Agile practices
  • Strong engineering experience and the ability to contribute directly to core engineering tasks
  • A deep understanding of Agile approaches, including Scrum
  • Strong communication, facilitation, and collaboration skills
  • The ability to balance Scrum responsibilities with their development work
  • Awareness of the team's technical and organisational context
  • The ability to support continuous improvement and healthy team dynamics
