Application Development & Support Manager

Vertiv is seeking an Application Developer to support the development and maintenance of the Site Scope (ITS) site requirements platform within Digital. This individual contributor role is responsible for executing development tasks across the React web application, React Native mobile application, and Node.js backend API, assisting with integration troubleshooting, and contributing to feature delivery under the guidance of the Tech Lead. The role will contribute to keeping the Site Scope (ITS) platform stable by performing hands-on development work, resolving defects, and supporting platform operations. This role supports Vertiv’s Operational Excellence and Customer Focus strategic priorities by helping ensure the Site Scope platform delivers reliable site requirements capture and assessment capabilities for Vertiv’s global sales and technical teams.

As a member of the Digital organization’s Site Scope team, this role contributes to platform development including React web components, React Native mobile features with SQLite offline support, Node.js RESTful API endpoints, and Microsoft SQL Server database interactions. The Application Developer will assist with integration testing, participate in code reviews, and support deployment activities under the direction of senior team members. This role requires use of AWS AI services (Transcribe, Textract, Bedrock), Snowflake data integration, and Microsoft Entra authentication flows (migrating from Okta). This position is based at Vertiv’s India office.

2 Key Responsibilities

1. React Frontend Development & Customization: Develop and customize frontend React components and TypeScript for the Site Scope web portal; implement feature enhancements and bug fixes to meet business requirements for sales and technical team workflows under the direction of the Tech Lead.
2. React Native Mobile Development: Build and maintain React Native mobile application features for iOS and Android platforms; implement offline-capable functionality using SQLite, queue/retry mechanisms, and conflict resolution to enable field teams to capture site requirements without connectivity.
3. Backend API Development & Integration Support: Develop and maintain Node.js RESTful API endpoints; work with Sequelize ORM for SQL Server database operations; assist with troubleshooting JWT authentication flows, SMTP email notifications, and Snowflake data connectivity.
4. Database & Data Integration: Write and maintain SQL queries, stored procedures, and views in Microsoft SQL Server; support Snowflake integration for extracting deal and opportunity details; ensure data integrity across the platform’s relational data layers and reporting functions.
5. AWS AI Services Integration: Support integration with AWS Transcribe (speech-to-text for audio recordings), AWS Textract (image/PDF-to-text extraction), and AWS Bedrock (AI-based data model generation); assist with data flow implementation between the Node.js API and AWS services for site assessment automation.
6. PDF Generation & Document Processing: Implement and maintain PDF generation pipelines using Docxtemplater, PizZip, and LibreOffice for converting site requirement data into formatted documents; support template management and document output quality assurance.
7. Deployment & CI/CD Support: Support deployment activities using on-premises GitLab CI/CD pipelines; assist with web application builds, Android deployments via internal testing tracks, and iOS builds using Xcode on Mac VM; follow established version control processes and support TestFlight distributions for non-production testing.
8. Authentication, Security & Collaboration: Support Microsoft Entra ID (Okta being retired) authentication configurations; collaborate with the Tech Lead, senior developers, IT infrastructure teams, and cross-functional stakeholders; document issues and resolutions in ServiceNow.

3 Requirements

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related field; equivalent practical experience considered.

Experience

1. 1–5 years of hands-on software development experience with exposure to React and/or React Native application development.
2. Experience building web or mobile application components with React/React Native and TypeScript in a professional or project-based setting.
3. Familiarity with supporting web applications in a production or staging environment, including basic troubleshooting and defect resolution.
4. Exposure to Node.js backend development or RESTful API concepts is a plus.

Technical Skills

1. Familiarity with the React framework including component architecture, hooks, state management, and lifecycle concepts.
2. Proficiency with TypeScript, HTML, CSS, and modern web development fundamentals including responsive, mobile-friendly design.
3. Basic understanding of REST APIs and HTTP communication; familiarity with Axios or equivalent HTTP clients and API testing tools (Postman).
4. Exposure to version control systems (GitLab) and CI/CD pipeline concepts.
5. Basic familiarity with Linux/Windows server environments and command-line operations.
6. Understanding of SQL fundamentals and relational database concepts (Microsoft SQL Server preferred); familiarity with ORMs (Sequelize) is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications

1. Experience with React Native mobile development including offline storage (SQLite) and sync/queue patterns.
2. Exposure to Node.js backend development with JWT authentication and middleware patterns.
3. Familiarity with Microsoft Entra ID, Okta, or OIDC-based authentication and authorization flows.
4. Experience with AWS services (Transcribe, Textract, Bedrock, or similar AI/ML services).
5. Familiarity with PDF generation libraries (Docxtemplater, PizZip) or document automation workflows.
6. Experience with Zod or Joi validation frameworks.
7. Agile/Scrum experience in team-based delivery environments.
