Brown & Brown is seeking an Application Development Leader to join our growing team!
The Application Development Leader role will lead the team responsible for developing and supporting Brown and Brown National Pharmacy Team proprietary applications. This role will work with department leaders and business subject matter experts to plan, coordinate and supervise all activities related to the detailed design, development, and implementation of software/application development. This leader will understand business requirements and ensure new application requests are appropriately designed, scoped, and prioritized for the successful creation of new technology that meets the business requirements, quality, cost, and time objectives.
How You Will Contribute:
Establish foundational application development practices and procedures including technical standards, software-coding standards, tools, and platforms standards.
Establish and continually improve processes for development, testing, release management, code management, creating and maintaining technical specifications, and other key processes related to application development and integration.
Work with business leaders and subject matter experts to prioritize, scope, and assign work to team members for the efficient completion of application development needs.
Lead and motivate Brown and Brown National Pharmacy team members into an efficient and highly productive application development team aligned to technical and business strategy.
Identify opportunities for business and IT collaboration that supports the Brown and Brown National Pharmacy team strategic vision and direction.
Work with key stakeholders to design and deliver new features that improve business delivery and our customers' satisfaction.
Drive application development delivery following project management techniques and disciplines.
Drive best in class application development rigor and quality by maintaining high standards for technical reviews and formal design reviews.
Work with cross departmental subject matter experts to ensure applications are running on appropriately defined and established server and database architecture.
Consult with corporate staff to identify potential risk mitigation opportunities that can be addressed through process change and/or automation.
Present new ideas or concepts in user-friendly language.
Other duties may be assigned.
Skills & Experience to Be Successful:
Five (5) years of experience working directly in an enterprise level full stack development environment (e.g. C#, PHP, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, SQL, JSON, Java).
Five (5) years of direct experience managing/directing application development projects and teams.
Experience with one or more common databases and / or data modeling tools (e.g. Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle, TOAD).
Demonstrated experience effectively leading project teams and application development projects to successful completion.
Formal project methodology experience: Agile (preferably Scrum) experience (preferred)
Minimum 5 years of direct IT management experience.
Previous experience working in the pharmacy industry. (preferred)
Experience developing and/or integrating various cloud-based systems such as Salesforce, Workday, AWS, Azure, etc. (preferred)
Pay Range
$115,000 - $140,000 AnnualThe pay range provided above is made in good faith and based on our lowest and highest annual salary or hourly rate paid for the role and takes into account years of experience required, geography, and/or budget for the role.
