The Digital Modernization Sector has a career opportunity for an Application Developer supporting the Global Solutions Management – Operations II (GSM-O II) contract at DISA. This contract includes the Operations, Sustainment, Maintenance, Repair, and Defense of the Defense Information System Network (DISN) within the DOD Information Network (DODIN) in support of the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) It also includes support to other key tasks for DISA, including the transformation of DISA’s operational mission through innovation, and support to DISA’s mission partners. 

Candidate must be able to be on site at Ft. Meade, MD daily as needed. 

Primary Responsibilities 

  • Work independently to ensure the reliability, availability, and security of the ENET solution in multiple environments by proactively monitoring the system, troubleshooting, and resolving issues to ensure high availability and continuity of operations. 

  • Be able to work in a fast-paced environment and must be able to work independently and be responsible for entire projects or processes within a technical area. 

  • Lead planning and migration of ENET infrastructure and applications from the Data Center environment to the AWS cloud. 

  • Manage the full life cycle of the project including team member functional management and customer of deploying hardware & software within the environment. 

  • Supervise and managed the daily tasks of geographically diverse team members. 

  • Troubleshot and resolve installation, infrastructure, network and system issues. 

  • Independently report, monitor, and mitigate technical risks. 

  • Ansible, Python, PowerShell and shell script experience is a must. 

  • Experience creating standard operating procedures, installation guides and architecture diagrams for all project systems. 

  • Conduct regular security scans, analyze results, and implement resolutions including testing of new hardware and software and ensure compliance with DISA. 

  • Experience with Alma Linux (8.x, 9.x) and Ubuntu (18.04, 22.04) within VMware 6 & 7 hosts 

  • Communicate and collaborate with clients and other team members to ensure successful completion of project 

  • objectives. 

  • Interact with software and hardware vendors to evaluate vendor products and make recommendations to purchase hardware and software. 

  • Experience with CI/CD pipeline, Earthflow’s NetObserv, AWS GovCloud, Jenkins, Artifactory, OpenShift, Ansible and Bitbucket are highly preferred. 

Basic Qualifications (required) 

  • Must hold an active DoD TS/SCI clearance.

  • Requires U.S. citizenship.

  • Hold an active security certification that meets DOD 8570 IAT level II or higher (i.e., Security+) 

  • Ft. Meade, MD, is a possible alternate work location with occasional travel to Arlington, VA on-site support. 

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 8-12 years of relevant experience or master’s with 6-10 years of prior relevant experience. Additional years of work experience in lieu of degree is acceptable. 

  • Demonstrated ability to stay organized, create standardized processes or technical guides, prioritize tasks, assign task to other and to provide hands on assistance to maintain, deploy IT systems. 

  • Ability to provide and support data center activities including, but not limited to, rack and stacking equipment, pull cable, and terminating cables. 

  • In-depth knowledge and experience with Virtual Environment administration. 

  • The ability to quickly adapt to new system environments and interface with systems. An interest in working on a broad range of problems and technology and as part of a multi-disciplinary team. 

  • Ability to work independently and at times as only Leidos representative working directly with customer IT team. 

  • Ability to communicate with program leaders and clients on status, issues, or technical designs 

  • Ability to follow documented processes and to provide updates to optimize or enhance the process when needed. 

  • Demonstrate good judgement and written/verbal communications. 

  • Experience with cloud-first, AWS native architectures and cloud PaaS & SaaS services such as databases. 

  • Highly skilled with networking services and solutions. 

  • The qualified candidate shall have excellent customer service skills and the ability to work independently, prioritize, schedule, and complete multiple tasks. 

  • Demonstrated leadership skills and attention to detail. 

  • Experience implementing Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) for systems. 

  • Must have experience working at a Unix/Linux command line. 

  • Strong communication skills that enable proactive and effective collaboration with a virtual team, including the ability to clearly articulate status and present to both customers and program leadership. Candidate shall have the ability to develop and present management level briefings. 

  • Proficient in creating technical documentation and diagrams 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Understanding of cloud-based solutions and service offerings, especially within GovCloud 

  • System integration, system administration, and network engineering experience. 

  • Experience in DevOps, Site Reliability, and/or backend/infrastructure engineering. 

  • Experience with container management and orchestration tools. 

  • Experience with DevOps/DevSecOps and CI/CD implementation. 

  • Experience in transitioning large, complex applications from data centers to the AWS cloud for Development, Test, and Production environments. 

  • Experience supporting a DoD customer. 

  • SME level understanding of designs and standards for ensuring the performance, availability, and security of infrastructure systems in a DOD environment. 

  • Cloud Architecting experience with knowledge of Linux and Windows systems

Pay Range:Pay Range $107,900.00 - $195,050.00
