The Application Development Senior Analyst designs, builds, tests and supports secure, reliable digital solutions that meet business and customer needs. Working within an Agile delivery team, the role provides hands-on development expertise, takes ownership of moderately complex work, contributes to technical decisions and helps improve engineering quality, delivery flow and operational resilience.
- Analyse user stories and technical requirements, identify dependencies and translate them into maintainable solution designs.
- Develop, configure, test and document application features using approved engineering standards, patterns and platforms.
- Own assigned work from refinement through deployment and early-life support, providing clear progress, risk and dependency updates.
- Produce clean, reusable and secure code or configuration, with appropriate unit tests and evidence of quality.
- Participate actively in peer reviews and respond constructively to feedback; support less-experienced developers through knowledge sharing and practical guidance.
- Collaborate with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Quality Engineering, Architecture, Security, Platform and Production Support colleagues.
- Use source control and CI/CD practices effectively, supporting automated quality gates and reliable, traceable releases.
- Troubleshoot defects and production issues using logs, monitoring and diagnostic tools; contribute to root-cause analysis and preventive actions.
- Create and maintain concise technical documentation, including solution notes, support guidance and operational runbooks.
- Contribute to sprint planning, refinement, daily stand-ups, reviews and retrospectives, and act on agreed continuous-improvement actions.
- Protect customer and company data by following privacy, security, access-control and change-management requirements.
- Keep skills current and apply relevant new capabilities where they improve quality, efficiency, reliability or customer outcomes.
- Practical experience delivering application development or configuration within an enterprise environment.
- Strong hands-on capability in the core technologies required by the requisition, with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues independently.
- Understanding of software engineering fundamentals, including modular design, testing, debugging, version control and secure coding.
- Experience working in Agile teams and managing work through tools such as Jira and Confluence or equivalent.
- Experience with code review, automated testing and CI/CD pipelines.
- Ability to communicate technical information clearly to engineering and non-engineering stakeholders.
- Sound judgement, attention to detail, ownership and a continuous-learning mindset.
- Ability to balance delivery pace with quality, security, maintainability and operational support needs.
- The requisition should identify the mandatory stack. For a Salesforce / OmniStudio vacancy, the following are relevant:
- Salesforce platform development and configuration, including Apex, Lightning Web Components, SOQL and platform security concepts.
- OmniStudio capabilities such as OmniScripts, FlexCards, DataRaptors and Integration Procedures.
- Integration patterns and APIs, including REST/SOAP services, authentication and error handling.
- Salesforce deployment and release practices, preferably using Git-based source control and Copado or a comparable CI/CD tool.
- Automated and unit testing, static analysis and code-quality controls.
- Application monitoring and log analysis using relevant observability tools.
- Relevant platform certification or equivalent demonstrable experience.
- Experience in healthcare, insurance or another regulated industry.
- Experience with SAFe or delivery across multiple dependent teams.
- Awareness of accessibility, performance engineering and resilient integration design.
- Experience using approved AI-assisted development tools to support activities such as code generation, refactoring, unit-test creation, documentation, debugging or code explanation, while applying human review, secure-coding practices and data-handling controls.
- Experience using approved generative AI tools in day-to-day work to summarise information, improve written communication, prepare meeting outputs, explore options or streamline repeatable tasks, with appropriate validation of outputs.
- An interest in evaluating AI use cases based on measurable value, quality, risk and responsible-use considerations.
Delivery: Completes agreed work predictably, surfaces risks early and follows through to a stable outcome.
Engineering quality: Produces maintainable, tested and secure solutions that meet agreed standards.

Collaboration: Works constructively across disciplines, contributes to reviews and shares knowledge.
Improvement: Identifies practical ways to reduce rework, strengthen controls and improve team effectiveness.
Responsible AI use: Uses AI as an assistive tool where permitted, validates outputs and never substitutes generated content for engineering accountability.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
Commitment to ongoing technical learning, including platform, security, cloud, automation and responsible AI capabilities relevant to the role.
