What we are looking for:
indiGO Auto Group is seeking a driven and hands-on full-time Application and Data Governance Manager to join our growing team. Reporting directly to the Director of IT and based in Houston, this role will serve as indiGO’s primary technical owner for application and data governance across a fast-paced, multi-location dealership environment.
The Application and Data Governance Manager will launch and mature indiGO’s data governance program, beginning with a focused business vertical and expanding through a practical crawl, walk, run approach. The role owns the technical governance of Tekion and Snowflake, drives trusted data from source through analytics, and establishes the standards, controls, lineage, and documentation required for reliable reporting, audit readiness, and responsible AI adoption. This is a high-impact opportunity for a technical leader who can translate business needs into secure, scalable, and executable data solutions.
This is what we offer:
- Opportunity to work in a cohesive and supportive team environment.
- Comprehensive insurance plans: medical, dental, vision, life, health savings account, and flexible spending account.
- 401(k) plus company match.
- Unlimited professional training opportunities.
- Paid vacation, sick days, and holidays.
- Significant opportunity for advancement within a growing company.
- Access to brand new, state-of-the-art facilities and equipment.
Here is what an ordinary day of work may look like:
- Serve as the primary technical owner for indiGO’s application and data governance program, converting business priorities into governed platform standards and an actionable roadmap.
- Own and administer the Snowflake environment, including role-based access control, security and privacy controls, cost and performance monitoring, object ownership, naming standards, data classification, masking, and platform health.
- Design and maintain governed data structures, semantic views, canonical fields, conformed dimensions, and trusted datasets that support consistent business reporting, analytics, and AI use cases.
- Serve as the internal program owner and escalation point for Tekion configuration, access, data quality, integrations, and vendor coordination across dealership and corporate stakeholders.
- Prevent recurring data issues at the source by governing field controls, required fields, validation rules, role standards, and critical-field locking in Tekion, with auditable decisions and documented change control.
- Trace and document data from Tekion and other source applications through Snowflake transformations and into Qlik dashboards or other consumption layers, using lineage and metadata practices to make downstream impact visible.
- Establish data quality rules, monitoring, exception workflows, and remediation processes that resolve systemic issues close to the source rather than masking them in reporting.
- Partner with Business Data Owners to define business meaning, approve authoritative sources, validate metrics, and sign off on governed datasets and decision-ready reporting.
- Collaborate with analytics resources to define certified metrics and reporting logic while maintaining appropriate separation between platform governance, business ownership, and dashboard delivery.
- Lead the intake, assessment, and prioritization of new data sources, application changes, integrations, and governance requests based on business value, risk, capacity, and platform constraints.
- Maintain a business glossary, data dictionary, application inventory, governance procedures, ownership records, retention requirements, and evidence needed for internal controls and audits.
- Advance responsible AI readiness by ensuring the underlying data is trusted, standardized, classified, appropriately secured, and suitable for approved Snowflake, Microsoft, Tekion, or other AI capabilities.
- Provide clear updates to the Director of IT and stakeholders on platform health, data quality trends, governance progress, risks, decisions, and upcoming priorities.
- Educate dealership and corporate colleagues on data ownership, source-system discipline, access governance, and the effective use of governed applications and data products.
