The Appian Case Management Studio Developer designs, builds, and maintains Appian-based case management and workflow applications to streamline mission and business processes within a federal environment.  This role focuses on leveraging Appian Case Management Studio to configure dynamic records, process models, and data fabric structures that manage complex case lifecycles—while enabling secure integrations with backend systems such as SAP ECC to provide end-to-end process visibility and automation. The developer works within an Agile framework, collaborating closely with Federal stakeholders, system integrators, and SAP technical teams to deliver compliant, scalable, and user-friendly solutions.

CACI supports a contract with a large Federal civilian customer to develop, maintain, and modernize business critical Commercial off the Shelf (COTS) systems built on SAP technology. The Appian Case Management Studio Developer will be part of an integrated project to team to support a project to lead and develop an Appian application that will interface with the existing COTS solution.  We are looking for an experienced Case Management Studio Developer who can effectively communicate with team members and develop solutions to address business requirements using the Appian case management toolset.

Responsibilites:

  • Lead architecture and design of case management applications and ensure best practices in low-code development, integrations and data modeling.
  • Design and implement Appian Case Management applications using Case Management Studio, including Records, Actions, Process Models, and User Interfaces.
  • Configure case hierarchies, record relationships, task routing, and reporting dashboards tailored to Federal workflows.
  • Integrate Appian workflows with SAP ECC systems using REST/OData services, Appian Integration Designer, and Connected Systems to synchronize data (e.g., purchase orders, requisitions, funds, and vendor data).
  • Build low-code automation components, such as Web APIs, RPA bots, and process event triggers, to improve efficiency and data accuracy.
  • Collaborate with SAP, database, and middleware teams to define secure data exchange standards and field mappings.
  • Ensure all integrations and applications adhere to FedRAMP, FISMA, and agency ATO requirements, including identity management (SAML/OAuth), encryption, and audit logging.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies, backlog grooming, and sprint reviews; estimate work effort and contribute to continuous improvement.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, design artifacts, and configuration guides compliant with Federal CDRL and IV&V expectations.
  • Support production deployments, performance tuning, and troubleshooting in collaboration with DevSecOps teams.
  • Leverage Appian Reports and Process Analytics to provide data-driven insight into operational performance.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Under this contract any male born after 12/31/1959 must be registered and certify their registration with the Selective Service System or have a waiver from the Selective Service Systems as a condition of employment.

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related discipline.
  • 7+ years of Appian application development experience, including at least 1+ year with Appian Case Management Studio.
  • Hands-on experience developing process models, records, interfaces, and decision rules in Appian.
  • Working knowledge of Appian Data Fabric and Record-to-Record relationships for complex case architectures.
  • Experience integrating Appian with enterprise systems via REST APIs, OData, or web services (preferably SAP ECC or SAP S/4HANA).
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and collaborative tools such as Jira and Confluence.
  • Familiarity with Federal IT compliance frameworks (FedRAMP Moderate, FISMA, NIST 800-53).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong written and oral communication abilities.

  • Exposure to SAP BTP or SAP Gateway for integration design and testing.
  • Familiarity with Appian RPA, Appian AI Copilot, or Appian Process Mining.
