AP Accounting & Controls Lead (f/m/x)

This role is responsible for leading Accounts Payable functional performance, quality of controls, measuring and improving the process, leveraging automation and continuously improving performance. This role serves as a business partner and copilot responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders of Accounts Payable (upstream & downstream functional teams, business unit, 3rd party partners, etc.).
What would be your key responsibilities?
Financial Operations

Providing guidance to business partner organization, monitors & drives performance as well as collaborating on initiatives that drive overall health of European AP processes, with specific focus in managing balance of un-invoiced receipts and 3rd party trade balances.

Providing direction & maintains overall oversight for the accuracy and health of financial statement accounts.

Overseeing scorecard results and work with key leaders to ensure business results stay on track.

Direct complex ad hoc financial analysis and making recommendations to business challenges.

Ensuring AP Hub team is partnering with local stakeholders to drive controls excellence, reduce aged balances, and deliver insights.
Delivers Results through Offshore Team

Delivering results through offshore team members while not having a direct reporting relationship.

Owning on-going coaching to drive awareness of the Mars culture (Five Principles) and leadership competencies required to be successful within the global shared service organization.
Controls & Governance

Driving Financial Ops to sustainable compliance by assessing the effectiveness of internal processes, controls, and risks.

Providing control insight and framework to address execution issues and gaps in existing control environment.

Ensuring all audit requests are fulfilled, serving as Mars Global Service AP owner for management action plans.

Maintaining ownership of Internal Controls Environment (ICE) AP Framework.
Continuous Improvement

Continuously upskilling to align with the S&F Capability Framework.

Leading standardization and documentation efforts across supported processes.
What are we looking for?
-
University degree – Finance/Accounting preferred.
-
5 +years of professional experience in various financial/accounting positions (P2P is nice to have).

Previous experience including Change Management.

Experience in lead/implement process improvements in cross functional environment.

Demonstrated ability to make decisions in complex and/or ambiguous business environments.

Lean Principles – will be a plus.

Understands essential elements of procure-to-pay process (contracts, vendor master, purchase order creation, invoice process, disbursements process)

Fluency in English (C1 level).
