  • Research reconciliation variances and partner with Accounting Operations to resolve outstanding items in a timely and controlled manner.

  • Provide operational oversight of tax-related processing and distribution coding.

  • Coordinate operational corrective processing and payment disbursements necessary to resolve tax reporting discrepancies.

  • Research and coordinate correction of tax reporting errors or exceptions.

  • Assess the operational impact of IRS and regulatory changes received, in partnership with Compliance and Tax, and operationalize any impacts or changes.

  • Provide operational requirements for tax-related initiatives and review business requirements for operational accuracy.

  • Partner with Business Analysis, User Acceptance Testing, Technology Administration, Accounting Operations, Law and Tax to support implementation readiness and operational execution.

  • Identify opportunities to strengthen operational controls, improve reporting accuracy, reduce manual effort, and mitigate operational risk throughout the client tax reporting lifecycle.

  • Monitor operational controls, reporting accuracy, and reconciliation activity and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce operational risk, and continuously improve customer outcomes.

What We're Looking For:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Extensive experience in annuity operations, tax reporting operations, or a related financial services operations discipline.

  • Strong working knowledge of client tax reporting lifecycles, IRS reporting requirements, and applicable regulatory frameworks.

  • Demonstrated experience partnering with external tax reporting providers (e.g., Sovos) and internal Tax, Accounting Operations, and Compliance functions.

  • Proven ability to research and resolve reconciliation variances and coordinate corrective processing and payment disbursements.

  • Experience assessing the operational impact of IRS and regulatory changes and translating them into process, procedural, and control updates.

  • Strong background in operational controls, risk mitigation, and continuous process improvement.

  • Experience providing operational requirements and partnering with Business Analysis, UAT, and administration platform teams on tax-related initiatives.

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders.
