Job DescriptionWe are seeking a Data Engineer with strong Anaplan and enterprise data integration experience to design, build, and maintain scalable data solutions supporting connected planning, analytics, and business decision-making.
This role will be responsible for integrating data from multiple enterprise systems into Anaplan, improving data quality and automation, and partnering with business and technical teams to deliver reliable planning solutions. The ideal candidate combines hands-on data engineering expertise with a strong understanding of Anaplan architecture, model data flows, and planning processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain automated data pipelines between Anaplan and enterprise source systems.
- Develop integrations using Anaplan CloudWorks, Anaplan Connect, REST APIs, ETL or ELT platforms, and cloud data services.
- Extract, transform, validate, and load data from systems such as ERP, CRM, HRIS, data warehouses, data lakes, and flat-file sources.
- Partner with Anaplan model builders and solution architects to define efficient data structures, import processes, mappings, and integration patterns.
- Create and maintain data transformation logic, staging layers, reconciliation processes, and exception-handling workflows.
- Monitor data pipelines and resolve integration failures, data-quality issues, and performance bottlenecks.
- Develop reusable integration components, technical standards, and automation frameworks.
- Support Anaplan model lifecycle activities, including data refreshes, production deployments, model copies, and environment management.
- Ensure data integrations comply with security, access-control, audit, and governance requirements.
- Document data flows, source-to-target mappings, technical designs, operating procedures, and support processes.
- Collaborate with finance, supply chain, sales, workforce planning, and other business teams to understand data requirements.
- Perform root-cause analysis and implement long-term solutions for recurring data and integration issues.
- Support testing activities, including unit testing, integration testing, reconciliation, and user acceptance testing.
- Identify opportunities to simplify processes, reduce manual effort, and improve the reliability of planning data.
- Provide operational support for business-critical Anaplan integrations and scheduled data processes.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Data Analytics, or a related field.
- Three or more years of experience in data engineering, data integration, business intelligence, or enterprise application integration.
- Hands-on experience working with Anaplan data integrations and model data processes.
- Experience with Anaplan CloudWorks, Anaplan Connect, APIs, or similar integration technologies.
- Strong SQL skills and experience working with relational databases, data warehouses, or cloud data platforms.
- Experience building ETL or ELT pipelines using tools such as Informatica, Boomi, MuleSoft, SnapLogic, Azure Data Factory, AWS Glue, Matillion, Talend, dbt, or similar platforms.
- Experience working with structured data formats such as CSV, JSON, XML, and API payloads.
- Strong understanding of data mapping, transformation, validation, reconciliation, and error handling.
- Ability to troubleshoot data discrepancies and integration failures across multiple systems.
- Experience with version control, deployment processes, and development lifecycle practices.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with both technical teams and business stakeholders.
