As a Software Development Manager on the Enterprise Capacity Analytics (ECA) team, you'll be at the forefront of developing and maintaining cutting-edge digital applications that drive Caterpillar's strategic capacity planning processes. You'll work with the latest technologies like .NET, C#, SQL, and Angular, pushing the boundaries of what's possible.
Oversee a team of 8-10 developers, guiding them to success and fostering their professional growth.
Dive deep into probabilistic capacity and financial analysis algorithms, enhancing your problem-solving skills.
Play a crucial role in Caterpillar's strategic planning, influencing decisions that affect the entire organization.
Stay ahead of industry benchmarks and continuously improve development effectiveness.

Provide technical support and direction to teams and team leaders, ensuring resources are in place to meet deadlines.
Oversee the performance of your team, identifying and addressing training and development needs.
Coordinate code reviews, ensuring adherence to code quality, cybersecurity standards, and design specifications.
Develop detailed work plans, schedules, resource plans, and status reports. Monitor and troubleshoot performance and schedule issues.
Contribute to code development in
Monitor industry benchmarks for development effectiveness and make recommendations for improvements.

Organizational Leadership: Knowledge of leadership concepts and ability to use strategies and skills to enlist others in setting, embracing and achieving objectives.
Software Development: Knowledge of .NET, C# and, if possible, Python and Angular/Typescript; ability to produce software products or systems in line with product requirements.
Software Development Life Cycle: Knowledge of software development life cycle; ability to use a structured methodology for delivering and managing new or enhanced software products to the marketplace.
Software Integration Engineering: Knowledge of software integration processes and functions; works on designing scalable and efficient ETL models and templates (SQL knowledge is necessary, dbt, airflow orchestration knowledge is plus).
Software Quality Assurance and Testing: Knowledge of software quality assurance and testing; ability to apply appropriate processes, tools, and techniques for assuring a high level of quality in computer software products and systems.

Master's degree, preferably in computer science, statistics, finance, mathematics, or a similar field with quantitative coursework.
Proven Team Leader experience.

The location for this position is Peoria, IL.
Domestic relocation assistance is available for this position.
This position will require less than 10% travel.
