Catalent’s Swindon facility houses our Zydis® fast dissolving tablet development and manufacturing operation as well as a CMC pharmaceutical analytical lab services unit that offers ASAP stability.
We are currently recruiting for an Analytical development Scientist 2 to join our busy Swindon site. The Support Scientist 2 will work within the Analytical Support team in maintaining the day-to-day effective operation and compliance within the chemistry and microbiology laboratories.
The Role:
- To comply with all Catalent EH&S requirements and support the laboratory LSC.
- To ensure all tasks are conducted in accordance with defined Risk & COSHH assessments and that they are carried out with regard to the safety of others.
- To conduct all activities in accordance with site and corporate standard operating procedures (SOP’s).
- To comply with laboratory and site GMP requirements and procedures.
- Working individually and as part of the Analytical Support team.
- Regularly reviewing the documentation in the Analytical Support Instrumentation files and, where appropriate, archiving.
- Reviewing and updating Analytical support monthly reports such as the standard report.
- Assisting the Analytica
- l Support team in day to day dealing with the QC laboratory staff.
- Help in the troubleshooting of instrument issues and breakdowns.
- To follow procedures for the control of equipment that is ‘out of use’ and it’s approved return for use.
- Knowledge of the Quality Systems as required by the role i.e. Trackwise, Qumas, LIMS & Empower.
- With guidance from senior staff and line management, provide support for new equipment installation & qualification projects.
- To help ensure current and future Data Integrity requirements are met and to highlight any deficiencies.
- Manage day to day tasks with minimal supervision and work towards longer term project ownership.
- Performing any other reasonable duties as requested by Line Management.
The Candidate:
- Degree in relevant scientific subject or equivalent technical experience
- Experience working within a GMP environment
- Confident user of HPLC
- Strong attention to detail.
