Job Summary
The Treasury Analyst – Retail Cash & Investigations protects company assets by reconciling, monitoring, and investigating retail cash and bank deposit activity across company locations, identifying root causes and potential loss or misconduct. This role combines Treasury, retail cash management principles, partnering with store operations, field leadership, and Finance to resolve discrepancies and reduce financial loss.
Missing Cash Investigations
• Conduct detailed investigations of cash shortages, missing deposits, deposit discrepancies, and other unexplained cash activity, analyzing activity to identify patterns and escalating significant findings to management.
• Partner with Operations, field leadership, and Finance to resolve investigations, and recommend improvements to cash-handling procedures and internal controls.
Retail Cash & Deposit Reconciliation
• Perform daily and monthly bank deposit reconciliations for retail locations, and research and resolve missing, late, duplicate, incorrect, or unmatched deposits.
• Monitor outstanding exceptions and maintain accurate reconciliation records and supporting documentation.
• Prepare regular reporting on cash shortages, deposit exceptions, investigation status, trends, and financial exposure using Microsoft Excel.
• Support month-end reporting, audits, and other requests involving retail cash, deposits, and investigation documentation.
Desired Qualifications
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business, or related field, with 2–5 years of experience in retail cash investigations, fraud investigations, treasury, or accounting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel with large data sets, strong investigative and analytical skills, effective communication, and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
