The Barings Analyst Program offers recent graduates a hands‑on introduction to asset management. Over the two‑year program, Program Analysts join the Portfolio Finance team and support the underwriting and management of investment‑grade, senior secured loans to asset managers across private equity, private credit, and real estate debt. The program begins with structured training and quickly transitions to live deal exposure, mentorship, and professional development. High‑performing Analysts may be considered for full‑time roles at the end of the program.
The Portfolio Finance team originates custom financing solutions for leading alternative investment managers and has originated over $61+ billion in private investments since 2017, managing $27+ billion of AUM as of December 31, 2025.
Primary Responsibilities
Build financial models and assist with valuation, forecasting, and risk analysis.
Support underwriting and investment memos.
Assist with portfolio monitoring, reporting, and investment updates.
Conduct market and industry research as part of due diligence.
Prepare analyses and presentation materials for internal teams.
Engage in training, mentorship, and team-building activities.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or one-year master’s degree with anticipated completion in Spring 2026.
Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field preferred.
Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
Prior internship experience at an investment bank, asset manager, private credit platform, or similar financial institution.
Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and quantitative skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team‑oriented environment.
Strong computer skills including experience with financial applications in Microsoft Office (Excel, Power Point and Word).
