You will develop a global understanding of food systems, food and agricultural trade, and food marketing; Interact with major international food and agriculture companies; Work with an award-winning price forecasting team and build analytical skills.

The Team: We are currently looking for an experienced analyst to join S&P Global Commodity Insights’ dynamic Food and Agricultural Commodities team to help develop our coverage of livestock and protein markets. The team is globally focused, monitoring supply conditions and prices for food and agricultural commodities, as well as producing analysis on how factors such as macroeconomic conditions, policy developments, and changing consumer preferences shape the food sector. The F&AC team produces world class analysis, forecasts and data across comprehensive global commodity markets.

Responsibilities and Impact:

• Produce written analysis to help customers understand “the story” driving price movements for global food and agricultural commodities, including food ingredients, food chemicals, and other supply chain costs.

• Contribute to regular reports on pricing developments across food and agricultural commodities, providing a forward-looking view.

• Prepare ad-hoc research and analysis for customers and present research insights both virtually and in-person as needed.

• Assist with construction of price forecasting models and interactive data tools to support procurement operations for food retailers and manufacturers.

What We’re Looking For:

Basic Required Qualifications:

• Please submit your résumé/CV in English.

• Bachelor’s degree in applied economics or similar subject, Master’s degree preferred.

• 1-2 years of experience in the food and/or agriculture sectors.

• Experience managing large datasets and conducting statistical analysis.

• Excellent written and spoken English.

• Strong presentation skills. Prior experience in a customer-facing role is preferred.

• Excellent MS Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint and Power BI skills.

• An interest in commodity markets and how they operate.

• You will have high energy, are willing and able to deal with client requests as they arise, and to travel as the job requires.

• Self-motivated and ambitious, with good problem-solving skills.
