SummaryIvy Hill Asset Management (or “IHAM,” an Ares Capital Corporation portfolio company) is currently searching for a highly motivated, detail-oriented team player to join as an Analyst. This position presents candidates with a unique opportunity to join a growing group that offers exposure to various phases of running a lean asset management group within the larger Ares organization. The Analyst will provide support for monthly and quarterly reporting requirements including data aggregation, quality control of inputs, reconciliation etc. Analyst will also provide support for monitoring corporate debt investment portfolio, including quarterly valuation and reporting, as well as support IHAM ongoing fund raising. Strong analytical and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to work well with limited supervision are of critical importance. This position will be based in Mumbai and report to senior investment professionals.
The Analyst will provide support for the management and ongoing monitoring of IHAM’s corporate debt investment portfolio, including regular weekly/monthly reporting across various data systems, quarterly valuation process, general portfolio management, as well as supporting ongoing fund raising processes. This position will be based in Mumbai. Key responsibilities include:
- Generating and validating various data reports on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis, including aggregating datapoints across several different internal reporting systems
- Taking ownership of various data fields across the portfolio, ensuring accuracy of outputs, and working with both internal and external teams to reconcile data discrepancies
- Performing and helping manage mark-to-market quarter end valuations and process
- Providing assistance to deal teams with assigned investments and general portfolio management including quarterly valuation and reporting
- Utilizing firm’s proprietary software tools for company financial performance tracking
- Assisting in preparing investors presentations & marketing materials, as well as aggregating data for ad hoc investor requests
- Additional duties include providing direct support as deemed necessary by senior management
Education: MBA or Equivalent degree
Experience Required:
- 0 - 3 years of relevant investment banking / fund / advisor experience / Credit analysis
General Requirements:
- Self-motivated and driven; ability to work effectively in a collegial, fast moving, demanding, and dynamic environment
- Experience with asset management systems or other relational databases
- Experience at a regional, national, or global financial services firm
- Self-starter, exceptional communication, and organizational skills necessary
- Ability to work independently as well as with “the team”
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and computer literacy
- Experience with Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook
- Creative problem solver
