The Role

The Analyst will work as part of the Investment Team, reporting to Katerina Williams. Key responsibilities will include underwriting real estate investment opportunities, market and deal research and supporting senior investment team members on transaction, business plan analysis, and strategy.

  • Financial analysis of a wide range of real estate investments, including modelling of real estate cash flows, financing and tax assumptions, IRRs, output sensitivities etc., as well as research to support key underwriting assumptions

  • Analysis and interpretation of real estate, economic and public company data, including financial statements, to conduct valuation and operational benchmarking

  • Preparation of documents for internal and external purposes, including writing investment committee memos

  • Ability to work well within a small, relatively flat team, coordinating directly with senior team members and external advisors, allowing broad exposure to deals at an early stage

  • Ability to work closely with internal teams including asset management, development, ESG, and corporate functions, and global offices, notably headquarters in Toronto office

The Person

  • Fluency in English. Fluency in French, Spanish or German would be an advantage

  • Approximately 1-2 years’ cumulative experience across internships or graduate level positions with proven analytical capability in investments, preferably with an investment banking or real estate fund background

  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Powerpoint)

  • Experience of building financial models, preparing presentations and undertaking research

  • Strong communication skills (both verbal and written) and ability to collaborate with internal and external professionals. Potential to develop industry network and contacts with peers over time and represent Oxford in the European market

  • Experience within an investment bank or a real estate investment fund preferred

  • Team player; self-starter; diligent, able to take initiative and work in a dynamic environment; professional and positive attitude
