Job Description

The Quality Control (“QC”) Analyst will perform detailed quality control activities to ensure that screening and transaction monitoring processes comply with internal policies and regulatory requirements. The role focuses on assessing the effectiveness of financial crime controls by reviewing and investigating cases or alerts. Their role will be to safeguard the company from regulatory risk by identifying gaps in analyst performance, improving investigative rationales and our internal policies while ensuring our monitoring systems are operating effectively. The QC analyst will collaborate closely with departmental team leads and subject matter experts to present findings, present recommendations on process improvements, and targeted training sessions.

What your responsibilities will be

  • Conduct quality control reviews of screening, and transaction monitoring in accordance with company policies, internal procedures, and regulatory expectations, within defined timelines.

  • Execute quality control reviews on a daily, weekly, monthly, and ad hoc basis, assessing alert handling, case decisions, and documentation to ensure compliance with established standards.

  • Apply risk-based sampling methodologies, including adjusting sample sizes and increasing coverage for specific analysts, teams, or workstreams where elevated error rates or quality concerns are identified.

  • Evaluate analyst performance and identify deviations from policies, procedures, or regulatory requirements.

  • Support the development and ongoing enhancement of the quality control function by designing and updating testing methodologies, review scripts, guidance materials, and control frameworks across multiple review areas.

  • Identify potential process weaknesses, control gaps, or systemic risks, and conduct thematic reviews to assess recurring issues, trends, or patterns.

  • Analyze quality review outcomes to identify quality gaps, root causes, and emerging risks, and ensure findings are clearly documented and communicated through regular Quality Control reporting to relevant management and stakeholders.Clearly communicate findings, risk implications, and actionable recommendations to management and business owners to 

  • support continuous improvement.

  • Accurately classify findings in line with internal procedures, severity definitions, and quality standards.

  • Provide constructive feedback and recommendations to analysts and stakeholders to improve decision-making, documentation quality, and operational efficiency.

  • Proactively suggest enhancements to processes, controls, tools, and infrastructure to strengthen screening and transaction monitoring effectiveness.

  • Stay up to date with applicable regulatory requirements, internal policy updates, and business changes impacting screening and monitoring activities.

  • Meet deadlines for quality reviews, reporting, and data analysis deliverables.

  • Operate effectively both independently and collaboratively within team-oriented environments.

What you will need to be successful (skills and competencies)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Banking, Finance, Business Management, Law, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in Compliance, AML, Financial Crime, Transaction Monitoring, Screening, or Quality Control.

  • Knowledge/experience in the payment processing industry and/or e-commerce landscape is beneficial.

  • Strong understanding of financial crime risk, AML regulations, and compliance frameworks.

  • Experience with transaction monitoring and screening systems preferred.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.

  • Ability to accurately identify trends or recurring issues.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team.

  • Well-organized, reliable, and able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Compliance certifications (ICA/ACAMS) preferred or willingness to obtain.

  • Fluency in English.
