Overview
Are you ready to take part in the global energy transition? We are looking for a detail-oriented Analyst to join our team as an AI/DER Specialist in Energy Consulting. This is your opportunity to use advanced artificial intelligence tools and services to contribute to significant improvements in clean energy transition, develop subject matter expertise in Distributed Energy Resources to help support utilities boost their load management programs to meet the demands of the future. Your work will support the worldwide shift towards cleaner and more efficient energy systems, aligning with ICF’s mission to “build a resilient and prosperous world for all.”
Key Responsibilities
- Support quantitative and economic analyses to assess Flexible Load Management (FLM) and Distributed Energy Resources (DER) value, including resource adequacy, market potential, and program impact.
- Evaluate and design DER strategies and programs, including potential studies, technology impact assessments, and development of scalable, innovative program roadmaps.
- Drive market intelligence and benchmarking by analyzing DER adoption, saturation, feasibility, and emerging technology trends to inform strategic decision-making.
- Develop and deploy AI-driven solutions and tools to enhance energy analytics, automate workflows, and enable data-driven insights and visualization for internal and client-facing applications.
- Translate advanced analytics into actionable insights by collaborating cross-functionally and communicating complex findings into clear, strategic recommendations for stakeholders.
Qualifications and Preferred Skills/Experience
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Machine Learning (ML), or a related field.
- Expertise in ML and AI tools, with familiarity in Azure OpenAI Services, Microsoft Copilot Studio functionalities. Proficiency with data analysis and visualization tools such as PowerBI, and experience with data connection workflows using Databricks, Azure Containers, etc. is preferred
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and an ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- A passion for the energy industry, with specific interest in DERs including DER technology assessment (ex., Energy Efficiency, Demand Side Management, Demand Response, Solar, Storage, etc.)
- Clear communication skills, enabling you to convey technical information effectively.
- Adaptability to thrive in fast-paced, ever-changing environments.
