To satisfy the needs of our growing client base, Hamilton Lane is hiring an analyst to join our Client Solutions Group team in our Tokyo office.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Analyst will work closely with our client solutions managers on client deliverables and special projects that help our clients build and manage their private markets portfolios. The Analyst may also assist in the development of new business opportunities in Japan. We seek professionals with a pro-active mindset and strong communication skills who show willingness to operate in a deadline-driven environment. This is an excellent opportunity to develop private equity experience as formal training and mentorship will be provided.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work directly with client solutions managers and other client solutions team members on client deliverables and special projects.
- Work with other departments internally, including investment teams, portfolio management teams, legal, research and reporting, to aggregate information needed to help prepare client deliverables.
- Prepare client specific reports and templates for separate account clients in Tokyo.
- Maintain a working knowledge of assigned client portfolios and the investments within these portfolios.
- Review quarterly and annual reports for clients.
- Respond to client questions and special requests (analyze reports/informational requests), interact with client solutions managers to ensure that the required level of client service is being provided.
- Assist in preparing presentations to prospective clients. Includes translation to Japanese of marketing and other materials, coordinating instructions/edits between the graphic designers, compliance and BD Support.
- Assist with other duties and special projects as needed.
- Learn and maintain a working knowledge of HL technology tools to aggregate and present information needed for client deliverables.
NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS; Education and/or Experience:
- College degree (B.A., B.S. or B.B.A.)
- 1-4 years of working experience in private markets, financial industry, asset management industry, or other related industry
- Native level fluency in Japanese. Business Level fluency in English
- Ability to collaborate and work in a team-environment
- Capacity to learn, absorb and analyze information quickly
- Candidate should be detail oriented, responsible, and organized
- Working knowledge of Microsoft applications necessary (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
