Ameresco has a current opening for an Analyst – AEG consulting group.

Applied Energy Group (AEG), a division of Ameresco, is seeking a dedicated Analyst to join its Consulting division. The successful candidate will evaluate energy usage, assess the effectiveness of energy efficiency and demand response programs, contribute to distributed energy resource planning, and perform cost-effectiveness analysis. This role requires a strong quantitative skillset that integrates data science, statistics, and econometrics, along with the ability to excel in a dynamic and collaborative consulting environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform wide range of complex, energy-related analysis which may include: statistical analyses, analysis of energy consumption data, estimation of utility program energy savings, measure engineering analysis, benefit-cost analysis, program development and planning, evaluation analysis, market research, survey design, and secondary research.
  • Manage ETL processes to integrate and transform data for analysis
  • Manage assigned tasks and analyses to project manager and manager’s satisfaction.
  • Prepare written reports and presentation materials and assist in the development of project deliverables.
  • Communicate analytical methods and results to clients.
  • Justify and document technical decisions related to research, planning, and data analysis.
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients to maximize productivity and cultivate future opportunities. 
  • Develop and execute analysis plans for tasks and/or projects.
  • Begin to develop expertise in a chosen practice area by staying at the forefront of the industry in terms of methods, and or innovations.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BA/BS in Economics, Statistics, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
  • Minimum of 1 year experience working in energy efficiency technology assessment, utility program development and implementation, program evaluation, clean energy analysis, or related areas.

Additional Qualifications:

  • MA/MS in a related field
  • Certifications in basic programming or data analytics
  • Demonstrated strong analytical, problem-solving and decision making expertise
  • Skilled in data management, ETL processes, and visualization
  • Experience with one or more of the following programming languages: R, Stata, SQL, Python
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel, Power Query, and PowerBI
  • Familiarity with geospatial analyses and advanced statistical approaches
  • Familiarity of energy codes and standards related to energy efficiency measures
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to handle complexity and articulate findings clearly.
  • Ability to develop analysis plans for discrete tasks and/or projects
  • Team player with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Sound business ethics, including the protection of proprietary and confidential information
  • Superior interpersonal skills including courtesy, professionalism and a cooperative attitude
  • Strong organizational skills with proven ability to follow through on multiple tasks and priorities.
